Non smokers beware - convenient position but full of smokers

Very convenient position - rate includes breakfast and wi fi . It is definitely not luxurious - breakfast is ok, room is kept clean, staff are very friendly. I guess the biggest plus it is a reasonable rate for the convenience - cross the road to the beautiful Patong beach which has so many activities. Markets are close by, restaurants all within walking distance. So - not probably 3 star resort in a very convenient position. Do wish smoking was banned throughout resort - I know - big ask. But the smoking was ghastly - so many Aussies taking advantage of no restrictions and cheap cigarettes. Around the pool, near the dining area - smokers everywhere.

          Will return again.

This was our second time at the Horizon & like the first we had a Ball. Food first class, staff the best, we will return in a year or two for sure. Thank you all ance again. Reg & Valerie Mills Western Auatralia.

          Fantastic value

I loved the horizon! the place looks fantastic, the food at the baluchi is exceptional and the staff are the friendliest and most helpful i've encountered. having forked out a fortune for a crummy little place in miami earlier this year i was a bit dubious because of the rates here. needless to say i pleasantly surprised by the horizon. I would happily go back and recommend it to anyone.

          Great, but construction next door

There is contruction for a hotel ongoing right next door, so exercise caution in booking this hotel. Although the ammenities are excellent, and the staff generally helpful, took me 2 days to finally switch my room during my stay, but even after moving more to the back of the hotel can still hear the constuction inside my room, and it wouldn't be such a big deal but they continue on late into the night, sometimes 9 or 10pm. Even relaxing by the pool you can hear it, so going to the beach is the only way to avoid it.

          Terriffic place to stay

We and our two best friends had 8 great nights a week ago in this almost hidden hotel yet virtually opposite the beach in the center of patong beach. It is very quiet and cosy with big rooms, both ours on the 1st floor overlooking one of two pools. It has obviously had major work in the past few months since the disaster. So everything is new and clean. All the staff were very friendly and obliging and helped us whenever we needed something. Breakfast was included for us and was very good. The standard of food in the main (of 2) restaurants was not to our liking and we found much better quality at a lower price within a couple of minutes walk outside of the hotel, and this was the only thing to let it down a bit , for us anyway. We travelled on an upgraded package and would definately go back there again.

Stayed at the Horizon for 7 days in November 2004. Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Rooms very immaculate, cleaned daily. Peaceful yet entertaining and like your own little peace of paradise. Would reccommend anyone to stay there if your in for a cheap yet great holiday.

          Excellent holiday

My partner and i had a fantastic holiday at Horizon Beach Hotel, Patong Beach in october. The people are so friendly, standards are exceptional in the hotel the whole area was so magical and romantic. We are so saddened by what happened on december 26th although we realise there was a lot of damage and like alot of other tourists who have been to thailand know that phuket and other areas will be up and running again. Whilst we were staying at Horizon Beach we used the massage parlour quite a few times we do hope the ladies there are safe. We also made friends with Atit who works in reception we hope he is safe along with the rest of the staff. May we wish you good luck on your reopening. We shall be back to Phuket in November 2005.

          Happy Holiday

My wife & I stayed in your Hotel for 14 days in Sept.2002 & had a wonderful time. We hope! to be able to return in Sept/Oct. this year if all goes well with the re-building of Phuket etc. we will keep in contact with our travel agent who should be up to date with everything.

Wishing you all the very best of heath & luck, & hoping to be with you all soon.

Regards & best wishers Mr. Mrs Reg & Valerie Mills

          Enjoyed the Horizon Beach Hotel

My Husband myself and 3 friends stayed at the Horizon Beach Hotel in November. The staff were very friendly plus we had a beautiful buffet breakfast every day. The rooms were excellent . We were central to everything + beach 2 min walk. Overall very impressive.

          For the price very good

Staying at the Horizon Beach for the second time we found it to be just as good as our first stay in 2002.

Staff are very friendly and keen to assist.

Pools are good and the hotel is in a great location.

          Loved it

This is the second time i have been to this hotel and i think it is great. The rooms are large and serviced daily. 2 bottles of water were left each day and 2 beach towels. The buffet breakfast was also good value as it was included in the price. 2 good sized pools are on premises and the beach is just across the street so you can select one or the other very easily. Not a noisy hotel and patrons were very friendly, a gym and creche are also available I found everything to my liking and would defenitly go back again

... all of my family and friends.

My favorite place was Disney Land and Lipno, Czech Republic.
Disney Land was super fun and crazy like all the rides there.
Lipno was the place we went snowboarding and I learnt it there which was really fun.

Today we are staying home swimming and Mum and Dad are going to go shopping and it has been an amazing experience I will remember forever.

... with "4 more hours"!!!!! What was promised as a 2 hour bus trip, turned into 8 hours all up!  So after 1 overnight train, 3 buses, 2 taxis, no sleep, no meals, no toilet, 1 grumpy Sara and 22 hours, we arrived at our hotel in Patong.  Jon has the patience of a saint for putting up with me today. We opted for a quiet dinner a mere 5 metres from the hotel. I'll organise something nice for him to thank him for calming me down ...

So I have been following Dot around for the past few days taking in her movie star lifestyle- it is honestly like something out of the housewives of Beverly Hills! On my first day I helped out at a bake sale at the kids swimming gala.. we were raising money for the school production of the wizard of oz. The swimming gala took place at the school and you should see it.. it's insane- the grounds and facilities are better than any sports club in Edinburgh! ...

          Travelling back to Bangkok

... a muffin and tea, lovely! Then when we get to bangkok our transfer to the hotel was like 5 star, really comfy seats and we got given a bottle of water! Lovely job! the grand china hotel was massive, we was going to have a look round china town but I think we was quite far out and the streets where disgusting and dirty and I couldn't be bothered as I was soo tired, instead we popped to a 7/11 then went back to the hotel and had dinner then went to bed, I was ...
