On December 27th after breakfast it was time to set out on our hike up Silly Mountain. Yes – that is really what it is called. The trail is rocky with lots of loose screed underfoot so you have to watch your step. There are numerous trails available including an interpretive trail with informational plaques describing the vegetation. The next day, Sunday, we spent the entire day viewing the Canyon. We walked some and took the convenient shuttle with frequent viewing stops along an eight-mile path of the South Rim. We checked out the Visitor Center which explains the geology and formation of the Canyon. An IMAX theater movie about the Grand Canyon was also very informative. I enjoyed every single view of this Seventh Natural Wonder of the World.
