          Fantastic experience, great hotel

Absolutely fantastic, we choose holiday inn phuket to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it was incrediable - the staffs were very friendly. We stayed in the pool access room at buskorn wing. When we arrived to our room they had a surprised for us with champagne, a heart shaped cake, choclates, cookies, fruit..etc and a card wishing us on our special occasion. The breakfast was lovely spread with alot of varities and we had buffet dinner and the quality and taste of the food were really good and fresh. The room was very clean and services were excellent. The room is cleaned twice a day. Beautiful pool and garden. We stayed 4 nights and during our stay in October the Main wing was not ready but we viewed some of the pictures on the new look of the hotel,We believe Holiday Inn will be the best hotel in Patong. I have been to Phuket 3 times, and this is the best hotel we have stayed and we have decided in future we will only choose Holiday inn, our children are looking forward to a trip next year to enjoy the new wing which is being opened in Nov 05.

          Couldn't Fault the Holiday Inn

Just returned from Thailand and stayed at the Holiday Inn Phuket in the Busacorn Wing.

THe hotel was beautiful the gardens stunning and the rooms gorgeous. The rooms were done twice a day and your bed turned down of a night time with an orchid on your pillow.

The breakfast at the Holiday Inn was tasty and we ate many times at the hotel of a night time due to the price and quality of the food. We tried other places around Patong beach on the waterfront and none came close to the Holiday Inn.

The pool bar staff are friendly and made great drinks.

The staff were great. They always greated you with a smile and you could not fault them at all. Due to the Tsunami the hotel was not full but I am sure the staff are like that in general.

There are markets outside the hotel and the beach is about a 10 minute walk due to the fact that the hotel is half closed.

My only negative comment would be that of a night time you could here people walking up the hallyway if they were talking. Out of the 5 nights we stayed there that happened twice but it is because the hotel is so quiet that it echos. also the pool closes at 8 at night so there is no late night swimming.

          Holiday Inn Patong

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Patong for a week during July, in a studio in the Busakorn Wing

The Holiday Inn is beautiful & the food & staff exceptional

However we found the Hotel to be very noisy at nights, as the rooms do not seem to be very soundproof

We stayed on the third floor & could hear noise from above & normal conversation from adjoining rooms

At the night sound seemed to echo from the tiled hallways, from people coming back to their rooms at all hours. Sometimes very loudly

One night Hotel security were involved at 1am to quieten a disturbance

We have previously stayed in their old wing , without hearing a sound from other rooms

We would not stay here again, because of the noise factor, even though , everything else about the Holiday Inn is excellent

Paradise for an alone travelling woman

I have just returned from a most lovely and excellent relaxing holiday in Phuket Patong. Holiday Inn is a perfectly safe and kind place full of hospitality and Thai smiles.

Having been concerned about travelling alone to Phuket, I can assure that I spent a most wonderful time relaxing in the sun (and even if it is the monsoon season, there IS enough sun), drinking a coctail out of a coconut or pineapple and enjoying being taken excellent care of.

Holiday Inn offers a new orchid blossom on the pillow every night, the Busakorn rooms are spacios and rather luxurious. A perfect way and place to get spoilt. Truly recommend.

          Fantastic hotel

We stayed at this hotel in December 2004 (just before the Tsunami). We stayed in the Busakorn wing which was fantastic. I could not fault anything about this hotel. The room was huge with beautiful furniture and a massive bed! The bathroom was split in to two with a wet room on one side and a toilet on the other. The food was great, the staff polite and friendly and the pool area for this wing is wonderful. Hopefully this hotel has not suffered too much from the Tsunami.

I think the location of this hotel is also just right - you are far enough away from the hustle but close enough to walk to as much nightlife as you want.

          Enjoyed the stay

We stayed in Holiday Inn (Busakorn wing)for two nights and the stay was quite enjoyable. The wing is newly made and the look is very stylish.

The room was nice and clean. Room had a fully loaded minibar and all required amenities. Bathroom was very small though. We expected the bathroom to be luxurious. Hotel staff was very courteous, smiling and friendly. Room service was also very good. The pool is fantastic with a bar at the corner. We spent a lot of time in the pool and our kid loved it. The morning buffet was quite elaborate and tasteful.

The Hotel is situated in the heart of Patong area, thus excess to the beach and nightlife is just a small walk away.

Our stay in the hotel was quite memorable and we would like to come here again.

          Great place

We payed the extra and had a pool access villa room which was worth the money

Private pool and the room was lovely

The hotel is nice and quiet and the staff look after you so well, even sent me a birthday cake to my room which was nice

The is a huge market across the road selling all kinds of goods and we had great fun haggling with the stall holders

Overall a great holiday and Phuket is a wonderful place please visit the island

          Good hotel

The Holiday Inn located in Patong is a family oriented resort. Patong is the typical southeast asia town, lots of noise, very hot, street vendors everywhere. But the hotel is an oasis where you can relax in a decent room. The standard rooms are fine, they have an empty small fridge where you can keep your snacks that you can buy at the supermarket only a few feet away from the hotel. This comes in handy when outside it is 35 degrees centigrades. The more wxclusive (and more expensive) wing is very nice, with a more private pool area. But if you stay at the standard wing you can still use the expensive wing's pool, provided the lounge chairs are not all taken by the guests staying there.

You can use the hotel's tuk-tuks in front of the hotel to go to different beaches every day. I reccomend Laesing beach, beautiful, quiet, decent restaurants. Also, you can hire a boat in front of the hotel to go to Freedom beach, another beauty.

          Fantastic Hotel..great location

I stayed in the Busakorn Wing of the Holiday Inn. It was my first time to Phuket and I had no idea where to stay. Friends had previously stayed about 10 mins out of town, their resord looked beautiful, but I wanted something central to everything, yet still with the features of a lush resort. The hotel was one of the nicest I have stayed in. The landscaping of the holel was superb...the service great....the 2 pool areas lovelly to lay around ....and the rooms very spacious with a huge shower area. The location was fantastic with the main street just outside our door. If you are planning a holiday to Phuket though, make sure the book the "Busakorn Wing" as the Holiday Inn main wing was nothing compared the Busakorn area. I would suggest for a couple to pay a bit extra and stay in a private villa which has private pool access and your mimi bar is free! it provides you with more privacy! Overall though, it is a great resort...the best in the area.

Great HOtel right in the middle of the action

Hi, We stayed at the Holiday Inn Busakorn Wing in March of 2004. I have been to Thailand many times and have stayed at many different hotels ranging in price and class. This is a 4 star hotel in my opinion (out of 5) if you stay at the Busakorn Wing (nicer/newer rooms). You have a seperate pool from the main wing. Everything just seems nicer and cleaner in this wing. The rooms are a good size and very clean. I will break my reviews into pros and cons

Pros: Right in the middle of Patong. You can walk or take a short ride to the action. But yet it is not very noisy at all. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. They had omlettes made to order as well as many other things to eat. The only complaint is that the menu was pretty much the same everyday. We went to one other buffet (surf n' turf) and that was relatively good as well. A friend of mine got a massage at the spa and enjoyed it thoroughly. Service was great and everyone was friendly.

Cons: It didn't have its own beach. But hardly any hotels in Patong does. There's really not a great view of anything. OUt room was across from an old/ugly building. That was really our only complaint.

Overall a very nice hotel for its value. Will go back if given the chance.

We had our final breakfast at The Sands and it was time for our 2 hour drive to Patong Beach.

We arrived at the Holiday Inn at about 11.30am to find 2 of our 4 rooms ready. In the meantime waiting for the other rooms, we went to Terrazzo for lunch - an old favorite which is part of the Holiday Inn. In fact, this is Dad's favourite place in …

          Phuket - Thailand's largest island

... like we would be spending our last few days in Thailand in some sort of tourist hell. There were so many bars and people trying to sell things to you. We couldn't quite believe we were still in Thailand after all the lovely islands we'd seen here, it looked more like a horrible part of Spain and the clear blue sea we had got used to had now vanished. All I'm saying is this beach was not a patch on Fresh Water East and Barafundle Bay or Bognor Beach according to Arron. It was a ...
