Historical Traveler Reviews of Holiday Inn Bloomington-Arpt, Mn
Bonito y Barato!
from Cheaptraveler
Hotel was clean. We made the reservation with Hotwire for 43.00 per night. It was agreat bargain not disapointed at all. Rooms are good size and clean. Staff was helpfull and very friendly. Location was great for going to the city or to the Mall. Lots of great rest and less expensive mall few miles south.
Nice clean rooms

I stayed at this location Feb 18- 20. We had 2 rooms that we got off of hotwire for $45 per night. We drive 8 hours to the Mall of America every presidents day weekend. This hotel was about 5 minutes or so from the mall. We did not use the shuttle because we had our own car. THis hotel met our expectations. If you are going to use the pool (which we did not) you should know that it is small. Otherwise I would recommend this location.
Nice Clean Hotel

This hotel is nothing plush, but it is nice and clean. The room we were in was nicely decorated. The hotel is one of the older holiday inns that is built around the pool. They had a free shuttle to the Mall of America. So if you are looking for a cheap hotel that is nice this is a good pick!! I got our room off of Hotwire.
Pleasant Stay, GREAT Restaurant!

We stayed at this hotel, and were pleased. The room was neat and clean. I joined their Priority Club, and as a result, received a good discount at the Green Mill restaurant located in the hotel. We were travelling with 3 kids (4, 6, & 9) and their kids menu was very appealing to them. Breakfast buffet was well-stocked and very clean. The shuttle to the Mall of America is wonderful, as traffic in that area was hectic. Just let the front desk know when you're leaving and coming back, and they'll take you right there for free. The staff was very friendly, and check in and out was very smooth. This was not meant to be a posh hotel, just a good reliable Holiday Inn, and that it was. Will definitely use them again if ever in Minnesota again.
Uh..there are bugs in here.

I guess you really do get what you pay for. Through hotwire.com, we booked this room for $37.00 US/night and that was really all it was worth. Expect some problems with this run down old hotel. There was a huge spider working his way around our room on night one. We figured he was restless and hot from the lack of air conditioning in the room. Oh, and don't forget toothpaste because the front desk WILL NOT BRING YOU ANY even though there are signs declaring they will! And, I was puzzled about the fact that our room was not cleaned on a daily basis. Was that the $37.00 special room? You don't get it cleaned because you only paid $37.00??? Please Holiday Inn, replace dirty glasses, wet towels and throw out the garbage! Will not stay there again.
Holiday Inn; Average

My husband and I stayed here on 6/3. We were on the second floor, a non-smoking 2 double bed room right off the elevator. The second floor was pretty smokey, but our room didn't smell like smoke. I think our air conditioner wasn't working properly, because there was a weird smell coming out of the vents. We decided it wasn't all that bad, so I didn't call the front desk.
The walls were very thin and we kept hearing a creeking noise all evening; we couldn't determine if it was coming from the elevator or what, but my husband was annoyed by it.
Upon check-in, the only mention of securing our reservations through Priceline was that I didn't receive Priority Club points, but the lady gave us two drink tickets for the restaurant because she knew I was a PC member. We however went to the nearby (off of I-494 and Penn Ave) Bennigans for supper.
This shouldn't be considered an Airport zone hotel. For $32.00, we can't really complain too much; I definitely wouldn't stay here for full price, however.
Several miles from MSP but a great value through priceline

This is a standard 4 story atrium-style motel, but it is well-managed (friendly desk staff, clean rooms, etc.) and can be a great value if booked through priceline (select MSP airport, 2 and halfstar, bid $31, and you may get it). Tax added $9, so my total for a very comfortable night was $40!.I did not use the pool or fitness area or restaurant. The rooms are shades of brown (hence they look old-fashioned but are reasonably new) with free wi-fi, $10 TV internet, coffee maker, iron, etc.etc.Location is off I-35W at 94th street exit, about 5 miles from the airport and Mall of America (the hotel has a shuttle, but parking is cheaper off-site at the airport).
Comfortable and great food!

I disagree totally with the other reviews. Our room was completely stocked and staff was very courteous. The beds were comfortable and the free internet access was definately a plus (for your laptop). If you decide to stay here you must order room service from The Green Mill Restaurant. The deep dish pizza is out of this world. The wide variety of wings are super tasty as well. Best room service I ever had! My only complaint is that it is not very close to the airport. They do have a complimentary shuttle though which was nice.
Wouldn't stay again

Did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. We needed extra towels when we arrived. We called the front desk three times and were told they would be on their way up. No one ever showed up so we finally went down to the front desk ourselves. This occured twice during our three night stay. On Sunday evening when the hotel was completely booked, the restaurant was closed! The hotel advertises free coffee in the morning, we went down to get some and there was no cream for the coffee. When we inquired at the front desk we were told they didn't have any cream, they would ask their driver to go get some when he came back!!! That would have been too late as we were leaving. Lastly, we asked for a 5am wake up call so we could begin our journey home. We were assured we were signed up for the call but no one ever bothered to call us on the morning of our departure. The only good thing about the hotel was the pool and exercise area although they advertised a sauna that was out of order when we stayed there. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Made a reservation thru the internet. Called to cancel and was told they would not. Make sure you want to stay here before you book on-line...it will cost if whether you do or don't - they must really need the money.
