I have been to PV several times this was a first for Qualton and arrived at 8:30 a.m. my room was ready at 9:00 a.m. just great the service was excellent staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent I would recommend it. I just arrived home Sat. 15/03 was there for 2 weeks. I diffentally would go back there.

Great Holiday!!

This was my first trip and I chose the right hotel. The staff was very welcoming and the rooms and food were great. The activity staff are all really friendly and do their jobs great. The shows at night are a must to see. I have really enjoyed my stay at the Qualton and I would definately recommend it to anyone who wants a vacation!!

My best holiday yet!

this place was excellent! from the time we arrived, the staff at qualton were at our beckoning call. the bellboys not only took our bags to our room upon arrival, but also cam to grt them on the day of our departure and stored them for us until we were ready to leave tge hotel. the food was great, especially breakfast. qualton guests get an armband to identify them as guest and this helps keep anyone else from "wondering" in to use the pool, are help themselves to the bar or restaurant. the rooms were emaculate, and the houskeepers decorate the room with fresh flowers. the staff here are very willing to help you find your way around town and can be very helpful when it comes to planning off property activities. this is a great place for anyone as the range of people is wide. all ages and nationalities. a great spring break, or family facation spot. we'll definately be returning!

Can you say crappy....

This place sucks, maybe if you are retired and just want to get a tan go here, but thats it. It's very small and chair after chair side by side, beach is very small. Front desk not willing to do anything for you unless you complain day after day. After staying a few days finally got the room we asked for and was promised. Unless your in a high rise section the view sucks. The entertainment is not very good, they are not actors, and can't dance very well. They also lie to you, just so they can make a few bucks when they try and take you out to there bar of choice that night since the place shuts down after 12pm. The send you in a cab to downtown into a bar and have to pay for your drinks. The guys who serve you at dinner are really good. Thats the only thing I can say was good there. Food on the other hand... Not so good, same crap day after day, and leftovers from the night before for breakfast. Got to love that. yummy....

An amazing holiday

To everyone:This hotel has style and is worth the money you pay. I stayed for three weeks and it was the best holiday I ever had. The food was great, accomodations were good and the location was the best part. I'm going back in April because they have just renovated the hotel. Anyone who goes to P.V must seriously consider this hotel. I miss the Qualton Club and Spa. dloncar@sympatico.ca

Dissapointing

We stayed at the Qualton Club in July 2001, and cant really say i would reccommend it. The hotel was clean and the bedrooms good but some of the facilities were a lot to be desired. The pool area was to compact and small for the amount of people the hotel holds. it was impossible to get into the pool and many mexican people use the hotel and seem to bob up and down in the pool all day from sunrise to sunset. The bar areas were poor. Only one bar in the evening which closed at 11.30pm sharp. The evening buffet food was OK but the cattle market room you ate in was more to be desired as it took place in the ballroom which was a massive room seating upto 500 people all on large tables seating 20 people. Not exactly what I wanted on holiday. The Italian a la carte was good however and you wouldnt think you were in the same hotel. This only opened every other night though and as we chose not to eat in the cattle maket the night the italian was closed we had to eat out. Did meet some loverly fellow british people but they never rated much of the hotel either. To be honest, it doesnt deserve the 5 stars its rated. The hotel is tired and needs a good refit.

Won't be back and this is why

Very disappointed. We have been here once before and it was better then. don't count on a cool room, there are none, really no place to get cool except the pool. Pavilion area attached to the bar is gone due to the hurricane in November. We only had two towels in our room to start with, no washcloths. One person in our group had to end up making her own washcloths out of the hand towels because she asked for them for three days in a row with no success. Many in our group had no hot water and some had none at all at times. they do seem to want to keep the place clean although many of our people complained of mildew in their rooms. Their towels are old and there are many, many structural cracks in the building due to a small earthquake that happened about a week before we got here. Don't know if an engineer ever looked at them or not but they seemed to be just puttying over them, very scary. WE WON'T BE BACK!!!

I love this place

We have been to Puerto Vallarta numerous times and have stayed at a couple of other hotels. I was thoroughly impressed with the Qualton Club. From the time that we got to the hotel to the time we left the service was excellent! We had a porter take all of our things up to our room and when we checked out (our flight was a couple of hours after the checkout time) left they came to get everything and stored it for us until we were ready to leave. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. Our chambermaids would make sculptures out of our towels and decorate the room with flowers. We kept the air conditioning on the entire week so our room was always very comfortable.

The waiters would have bent over backwards for us if we had asked, they were always smiling, friendly and efficient. The food was all right for standard buffet, there was lots of variety throughout the week that we were there and everything was fresh. I do not expect much from an all-inclusive resort in the way of food but I certainly was not disappointed here.

From 10am the pool bar was open and there were a couple of waiters and a couple of bartenders so you could either wait to be served or serve yourself if you so desired. The pool bar was open until 5 or 6 p.m. Then the lobby bar was open from 5 p.m. until midnight. Lots of couches and chairs in the lobby to meet up with all of the guests of the hotel.

The activities coordinators and nightly entertainment staff is known as the Animacion Team. These people really made our trip. The are around the pool from 8 or 9 am until 6 p.m. and then at 9 pm they provide the entertainment under a different nightly theme. All of the Animacion Team are amazing dancers, and put on spectacular shows. There may be some audience participation before the show starts which is also a lot of fun.

I would highly recommend a vacation at the Qualton Club

4 star ??

from A TripAdvisor Member
I want to be fair, The room accommodations are 5 star (at least ocean veiw rooms) dont count on strong A/C in the rooms. Service was non existent no one helped us to our rooms, activites counter closed my whole 5 day stay,

gift shop was open when it wanted to, visited the Spa it did not look full service at all (if you are accustomed to a Pamper me all spa this isnt it! ) seeing nice helpful friendly staff throughout hotel- not here ! Grounds were

well kept, nice pool (hot) and crowded as any big resort, but dont expect to find any romantic, private spots. (kids everywhere) beach is okay

All inclusive with serious limits! 4 retaurants + snack bar all open at different times on different days so you really only had a choice of two place to eat at anytime. The cava is the best with a 4 coarse dinner, great presentaion food, taste was good. the other restaurants were buffet and pretty bad, overall the food was bad bad bad, Dont eat here if you dont have to.

Dont expect to have a decent drink here! drinks are water down and there is no premium beer, I didnt even get a buzz at the bar. the bar is not comfortable you cant really sit and drink, there is only one bar aside from the snack bar which serves terrible drinks as well. the one main bar opens

from like 3-12pm. the bar closes at midnight and the hotel dies (bedtime I guess)

over all this is a 3 1/2 star hotel, I will not be returning.

Qualton

Hotel was very enjoyable and activities during the day a lot of fun. Inclusive plan worked out great.

One complaint was front desk staff. Very rude!! The girl at the front desk was always on the phone with what seemed to be friends, and it was obvioulsy annoying for her to wait on anyone. Check in wasn't til 4pm! And there was no getting around that even if rooms were available. Also, I booked a upper level, ocean view room with balcony... but got a first floor, horrible patio with a view of dirt.
