One fish, two fish, red fish, a moray thiiiiis big

Obviously, no Egyptian seaside break (or any other touristic experience) can be complete without a camel ride. At the Hurghada Hilton Resort where we awaited our boat, a camel in a flouro-pink pareu was drumming up business on the beach - to avoid upsetting the punters he also sported a lime green flowered diaper. And so began our seven day live aboard dive cruise on the Red Sea. We shared the boat with 13 other divers ranging from Jeremy (USA) who hit 30 dives on the trip to Vera (Germany) w...

Very Disappointed

from A TripAdvisor Member
When we checked in they didn't have the correct information in their system. The next day I provided them with an email with the correct price and they wouldn't honor it. We had to move to a couple of different rooms because the bathrooms had mold/mildew around the tiles. The dinner buffet they offer at the hotel is quite overpriced considering the selection of food. Overall, the staff were very uncaring and unhelpful. After two nights we decided to move to the Marriott. The Marriott is an excellent choice, with great service and great food.

Confortevole & rilassante

Lovely!!

We stayed here as the final leg of our 3 centre holiday. After a weeks cruise down the nile and a few days in the hustle and bustle of cairo this was an amazing way to end our holiday. We reuested ground floor rooms when we arrived and received 4 rooms next door to each other for our party. The rooms were spacious and the staff really helpful. We hit the beach early and ate there at lunch- the food aws basic and snacky but what more do you need in between relaxing on the beach? At night we ate at the restaurants in the hotel our favourite was La Casa by the beach we ate there most often and the food was delicious!! The only let down was that Hurghada itself was still being developed and the shops were non existant.....a long dirt track with construction everywhere didnt really appeal to me as a nice afternoon stroll, however work never interfeered with our stay at the hilton inside the complex you would not have known it was going on. We took the pleasure of a snorkelling trip too booked with one of the resorts reps. This was afull days sail with snorkelling and equipment with lunch on the boat. This was well worth it costing only a few british pounds each, even if you dont fancy the snorkelling still well worth the trip to relax and soak up the sun. Overall it was relaxing and beautiful and our 6 days there was fantastic- make sure you ride the in house camel 'Oscar' on the beach!!

Nice hotel

My wife and I stayed at Hilton Hurghada Resort in Nov 2005 for 2 nights. The resort is not luxurious, but we indeed enjoyed our stay there. The room, especially the bathroom, is spacious and comfortable. The resort area is quiet and peaceful, and the beach is beautiful. It is worthy of staying there.

Excellent value for money

Stayed 7 nights at the Hilton Resort Hurghada and our party of 4 were very satisfied. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms of a very good standard. The pool area very pleasant. Aqua Aerobics with Tanya was fun.

Enjoyed our evening meals at the hotel restaurants Lagoona and twice at the la Casa.

The fitness centre was rather disappointing and breakfast did get rather monotonous. WHY is the smoking area placed right next to the bread / food serving zone??

Still very good VFM. Good situation (easy access to town and close to the excellent Hard Rock Cafe )We recommend the Hilton Resort.

Relaxing stay with friendly Service

from NotEnoughLeave
After a week cruising the Nile and visiting Temples every day it was a welcome relief to stay at the Hilton Hurghada Resort on the Red Sea for a quiet rest.

The staff were all very friendly & attentive, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed.

The Hotel Facilities were good and the services extensive including a souvenir shops, hairdresser, bank, internet cafe on site.

The Hilton Breakfast Buffet was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold items including prepared to order eggs.

The 'A La Carte' restaurants, the beach side Lagoona (Seafood) & La Casa (Italian), with discounted prices for Half & Full Board whilst we were there, were also very good.

The Blue Sky (main) buffet style restaurant food was disappointing however, being generally overcooked and unvaried. There was supposed to be a theme for each night of the week, different nights being, for example, 'Seafood', 'Mediteranean', 'Barbeque', 'Tex-Mex', 'Far Eastern', etc, but the same dishes seemed to be on offer each night.

Off the resort the mini-bus taxis were a nusiance driving up and down the street honking at every one trying to drum up business.

The shop attendants employed their usual annoying tactics to get customers into their establishments, but this is common in places were 'haggling' is the normal means of trade.

Rest And Relaxation

My daughter (26) and I spent two weeks at the Hilton Resort at the beginning of September.

The weather was wonderful, staff at the hotel couldnt have been more helpful but the best of all was the fantastic boat trips into clear blue waters. Snorkelling (which I had not tried before) was so good that I will be taking it up as my favourite sport. My daughter had her first dive and is now hooked on that.

The only aspect of the holiday which could have been a down point (if we had allowed it to be) was the fact that wherever we went, especially in the evening, we had to go by taxi (bus) into Hurghada town as otherwise the salesmen along the street wouldnt leave us alone. When taking the bus it is best to haggle a price because we were managing to do the short trip for 1 egyptian pound whereas they started off asking for 10 ep. When buying goods from the shops we were told to offer a price a quarter of the named amount and then allow to be "upped" to a third. This worked all the time.

One trip to do is definitely the day trip to Luxor. Even though the journey is tiring (up at 5 to get the coach and not back till after 10 pm at night) it should not be missed.

Anyone going there should be warned though that when going into the town please cover up (as much as you can in that heat) as the "ogling" from the men could be very scarey.

Other than that. Go to Hurghada and enjoy it as we did. I shall be going back asap just to "top up the tan".

Great Resort - Excellant Value

I was impressed with the Hotel, Staff friendly and attentive, Beach excellant and the pool fabulous. Great value for money. The rooms were very clean and spacious with mini bar. The hotel restaurants were superb, but the resort was central enough to walk to other hotels and restaurants. - Would return.

stayed here for two weeks in july. Had a great time and the staff were fantastic. Hotel facilities are great The buffet for breakfast and dinner is varied and of a generally high standard. The private beach is also of an excellent standard although a little on the small side.

Once you get used to haggling down the taxi drivers to a pound for each person (it takes a while) then your laughing for getting into hurgada town and sekalla.
