I was itching to get back on the road again, but first I had a few days back in Fort Lauderdale. To be honest, If I had not paid for the hotel in advance, I would have cancelled and driven further north.
I headed off quite early to Key West airport to pick the car up, and bumped in to KP who was just starting work. So he was the first …

Historical Traveler Reviews Hilton Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort Fort Lauderdale
The brand new Hilton is one of several new properties either completed or almost complete (W, St Regis, Trump) in this area of Fort Lauderdale beach. The rooms are very large with ample closet space, lots of light, and nice kitchens/kitchenettes. The bathrooms are lovely and very spacious; the hotel also provides lots of large, fluffy, high quality towels. My only bathroom complaint: the single, fluorescent light above the sink, while in keeping with the spare, Zen-like decorating scheme, did not offer enough light to put on make-up (although the hotel provides a small, countertop make-up mirror with adjustable lighting to alleviate this problem somewhat). The bed was great, as advertised and each room has a very large, flat panel TV that swivel, as needed. The pool area is very nice with a great view of the beach, which is across the street and pristinely clean. All the hotel staff have evidently been coached to be polite, smile, and address guests. Everyone from the doormen to the front desk staff and even the housekeeping staff was gracious, attentive and went out of his/her way to be very pleasant and proactively helpful. Other reviews have noted the noise from the W and Trump construction. It's not too loud but until the W is done, ask for a room on the East, West, or North sides of the Hilton. My only complaint and I think this may be due new operations: I had to call four times to get my room cleaned on a Saturday (finally done at 4:30 pm) and the furniture needed dusting badly. Based on the pride taken in the rest of the property, I'm sure this will be resolved with time. I'll definitely stay there again.
My wife and I have just spent 2 nights here. If you want a hotel with a well appointed and good sized bedroom with excellent kitchen facilities and a great bathroom, stay at the Hilton Beach Resort. There is also a great pool area. But if you expect a nice reception area, lounges, bars and restaurants, you are probably at least 6 months too early for this recently opened hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
I booked this Hotel back in Oct 2006, before it was even open, as part of a conference I attended. My wife had seen it being constructed in Feb 2006. When we arrived you could tell that it was NEW (you could still appreciate the fresh paint). The first room they gave us was not finished (in fact the construction crew was still inside) so they apologized and gave us an upgrade (a one bedroom unit). We were shocked with the beauty we saw- just like the pictures in this site, a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, master bath with Jacuzzi tub and shower and a second bathroom with shower. This was awesome. 19th floor looking at the ocean with a wrap-around balcony that allowed us to see east, west, north and south. I knew my wife would never want to leave.
We stayed on the 20th floor in a 1 bedroom suite, (that was after asking for an upgrade from our standard room booking at $299.) Our check-in person, Josh, was very accomodating, polite, and professional. Same with valet and bellhops. The views from the wrap around balcony were breathtaking!! You could see downtown FLL and the intercoastal waterway and then a partial view of the ocean looking North. Simply marvelous accomodations. Yes, there was constuction on both sides of the building (North and South), but noise was minimal and also expected. The only negative was that the color of the bath water in the HUGE jacuzzi tub was kinda pea green. Not sure if that is what it is suppose to look like - so took a shower instead!! My husband slept the best ever on their beds! Housekeeping came while we were at dinner and got the pull out sofa all ready for our daughter, just as we requested. We thought it was simply wonderful. Kudos to the Hilton FLL staff!
A 5 Star Hotel at 4 Star prices!!!
An Ultra-Luxurious Hotel Experience. Perfect in everyway. Right on the Beach!!! The staff caters to your every whim. We stayed in a one king one bedroom suite with a great ocean view!!! The room was HUGE!!! Top of the line everything!!! I've stayed at the Atlantic next door and it was double the price and not as nice!!!
We travel t the Lauderdale-Miami area frequently and would not stay anywhere else in South Florida!!!!
This is a brand new property, located directly across A1A from the beach (no hotels are directly on the beach). I stayed in a beautifully decorated suite with sweeping views of the ocean from every room - including the full bathroom. The suite had granite countertops, full size stainless steel appliances , fully stocked kitchen (meaning pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glassware - not food) eating bar, glass dining table and a washer/dryer. Another bathroom with shower and a sleeper sofa makes it great for a family or a few friends. Two flat panel tvs with video game controller, and the iPod compatible clock radio round out the entertainment. A wrap-around balcony with table and chairs make it easy to watch the ocean waves. Staff is eager to please. Lots of closet space. I wish I could have moved in!
We booked a 2 bedroom suite in this hotel. It stated it was on the beach, that was not true. The website listed amenities it did not have. Once in the room i discovered the dissapointment was not over. When i walked in the first thing i heard is how loud the cooling unit is, the toilet did not work, the tv in the master bedroom was not connected because it had nothing to connect to. They came in to repiar it and left the cover open with wiring exposed. I called to have some sugar brought up for my coffee and waited 30 mins. Only reason why i stayed here was because it was extrememly difficult finding a room on such short notice. In my opinion stay away from this place for at least 6 months, the facility is new and it needs ample time to get its act together even though i will never return this hotel.
Okay, so I'm sitting in my one-bedroom ocean view suite right now at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and wondering to myself "What happened?" I'm usually quite good at researching hotels before making reservations.
