... of trains and barges to cross the river. We circumnavigated the lodge taking in the views across to Starved Rock while also in search of a geocache hidden in an old Italian "letterbox" chair (one of only two in the world - the other being owned by Ozzie Osborne) located near the entrance to the lodge. ... about life in Chicago and life in London, accompanied by juicy ribs and cold (locally brewed) beer. Nice!

It had to end though, so we trudged off to continue our exploration. The Architectural River Tour came highly recommended, bizarrely, so we booked on it with some scepticism and spent a pleasingly educational and entertaining hour hearing about the significance and history of some of Chicago's buildings, both old (the trade ...

... can definitely say that we see the buildings in a new light. Perth could take some serious lessons from this place. The amount of money and importance they place on art, architecture and innovation here is phenomenal. After the tour and a bit more wondering around, we came back to the hostel to get ready for our Chicago Cubs baseball game! The game was held in Wrigley stadium, which is celebrating its centennial year. What a fantastic night!! We thoroughly enjoyed the ...
