    ... off for our next adventure to Napa Valley and Yosemite, then San Francisco.

    Stopped at the Napa Valley Welcome Centre and the very helpful ladies sorted us out. Linda. who loves Mickey Mouse and is off to Disney World the next day, found a very reasonable bnb at Calistoga. We were given some 2 for price of 1 wine tasting vouchers.

    Went to Lake Hennessey to find a cache and failed.

    ... working wharf but also a very touristy area. You can take a double decker bus tour, ride the trolley, take a boat tour around the bay and out to Alcatraz, eat at great restaurants, shop in all kinds of stores and visit a WWII battleship and submarine. Lots and lots to do in that area. We were all hungry after playing golf and had gotten a recommendation at the golf course to eat at Scoma's on Pier 47. Excellent choice! We all had seafood of some kind ...

    ... our women won, Rose and Carol! Tonight we won 2nd place in the costume contest because Wendi liked us! There were some clever ideas. The auction for left over food and other items tomorrow is fun. * We have met and enjoyed so many of the members this trip. We are definitely the newbies but have made our mark this trip.     Napa grows a lot of things but most noticeable to me is the great fileds of grapes and olive tree orchards. There was a very nice and expensive restaurant that served great food the name was brix. The area was very dry and had littel to no natural growth if plants but very drought resistant ...

    ... great if the weather was better...

    Then back on the Highway and up to Napa where the Hesse vinery was our first stop. They have some interesting Art there, so we hung around and had our first (of many) degustations before checking into the Hotel.

    Martin and Robyn had previously visited the area and pointed us to Mustard's Grill for dinner. Excellent....
