On a previous trip to San Francisco we'd enjoyed a bus tour of several Sonomoa wineries and a pleasant afternoon wandering the shops galleries and bars of Historic Sonoma Village....so what better place to begin our second visit! A short trip from our home In Fairfield via I80 & CA12 past endless vineyards, herds of cattle and dairy cows and the tasting rooms of the smaller wineries. We repeat our walk around the square ...

... beautiful building, great atmosphere and most importantly VERY tasteful wine. We can't wait to come back next year! On arrival at the camping site we enjoyed the sun for a while, set up our tent and had the usual barbecue.

We got up early the next day, so we had enough time to plan our day of wine tasting. Since drinking and driving wasn't an option for us, we didn't have a clue of how to get around between the wineries. The ...

    ... the Dead.
At the same time, across the street, 715 Ashbury (at bottom) was the headquarters of the San Francisco Hell's Angels chapter. A number of incidents took place here, the most notorious was in 1969 when Cassel Brenner, a young man living two doors down from the Angels had his car demolished by the motorcycle gang using chains and tire irons. Two responding policemen were also injured and had to call ...
