Despite a sunny start the fog came down again because of the nearness to the river. It is quite a wetland area. We left hwy 101 and took the 255 to Eureka via the bridges over the Humbolt River connecting Woodley Island. The fog disappeared so we had a walk round Eureka's Historic Old Town. 3 hours driving 138 miles.

As part of our money saving/healthy eating efforts we stopped and made some sandwiches in the Napa vineyards..see photo.

Once arriving at the Mountain Home Ranch (about 4 miles into the hills from Calistoga) we hit the hiking trail, found the sulphur springs and followed the canyon for about an hour each way.

Great dinner at Bosko in Calistoga.

... least for the time being, so bring on the new wineries. So little time, so MUCH wine.

Harlan's feeling better, so we decided a visit to a winery was in order since Judy and Pete haven’t had a wine tasting experience yet. Castello di Amorosa was suggested by two gentlemen we visited with at dinner at the Elks. This winery has sweeter wines for tasting, which we were looking for because Mowry’s enjoy that type of wine.

... Bonna wasn't too impressed with (she HATES raw oysters--even un-raw ones).

At the outside vendor portion of the facility Bonna was able to buy some really good tomatoes and peaches she fell in love with. But we could NOT find any lettuce so had to go and find a traditional grocery store (Walmart) to get the lettuce. Back to the coach where I got a call that the Napa Elks would hold an RV parking space for us if we arrive ...
