    ... a huge payoff. The hike itself is very demanding - 5 miles one way, a ton of elevation gain. I put a picture of the map in this blog post but if you are interested take a look on Google Maps and if you zoom enough you can see the trail with a bunch of photos posted. There were quite a few people on the hike, which is no surprise as it is rated as one of the best hikes in Canada.

    ... a little like the Wild West. We are right now travelling through the countryside on US Route 359. It's so sparsely populated. We can go for miles without seeing any settlements, just wide open grassland valleys and tree-filled mountains again. 1pm On the I-90 now. We are just passing through Craig Pass. Over here, the trees seem to be growing out of the rocks. It's all loose rocks here and they seem like boulders. The speed limit here is 75mph. We're ...

    ... a restored railway car serving food for over 80 years and it's been a winner of best breakfast for the last 10 years (the Six Dollar Hot Cakes reminded me of my Gran's homemade pancakes). The famed Riverfront area was built for the World Expo in 1974 and to be honest it was showing its age. It was a bit of let down but Cameron loved the 100 year old carousel, the playground and the gondola ride over the (small) waterfalls.

    ... but didn't see much worth photographing as the day was a bit dreary.

    We've had a lot of smoke in the air from the Washington, Idaho, and Oregon fires, but it appears to be clearing out now.
