    ... sun by a large cloud that continued to shield us from the sun for a couple of miles. I must say that I had never been so thankful for a cloud. The last section of the trail was covered by oak trees and vines. The contrast from the first 11 miles was striking.     ... to set up my tent. luckily nothing happens. I set my tent up with the opening pointing at the trail ahead for tomorrow. I go through 2 days of food. I have hiked faster than expected so I need to eat the food so I don't carry it....I miss home this night.     Arrived late last night. Had a fun time trying to figure out food. Didn't see any fast food on the drive out to Valley Center and ended up getting a Polish dog (the Chicago Dog to be specific) from Pinks and heading to bed well after midnight. Lady at the front desk took forever to check us in but at least we got our friday reservation changed to stay in our non smoking room. They were going to move us to a smoking room because they are booked solid.
