          ... ducks and all sorts of birds including huge sandhill cranes, frogs and turtles, chipmunks and small red squirrels. Bears, coyotes and deer did not care to make an appearance.

          While driving yesterday we killed our first bird via the camper windshield just before we cross the Mackinaw Bridge. The bridge is 5 miles long and was under construction.           ... the yummy homemade cinnamon rolls while we were there. We then headed to the lower Tahquamenon falls. The kids agree with Mel & Jim's nickname "root beer falls". The coloring actually is from the tannin that comes from the trees in the cedar swamp. We didn't spend very much time there but got some great pics, before starting our journey south ...
