... heading to the pool. We decided to just enjoy the hotel for the rest of the day and heal from our sunburns from the other day. We met another couple in the pool named Bill and Nicki. They are newlyweds from Michigan. We hung out at the pool and drank too many mojito's with them. We turned in for the night. Tomorrow we are off to Coba to see some archeological ruins and pyramid temples. Until ...

The adventures of getting to Mexico

A travel blog entry by charlotterowley on Apr 10, 2014

It was barely 4 days ago that I stepped off a plane. And yet I find myself headed back towards an airport. This time for a little longer than just a weekend away. A whole 27 days off work! ... and Caroline from Ireland who we nicknamed Queen and Princess, Jacinta, Jamie, Daniel, Kristy and Torkel from Australia, Joe, Vikki and Dai from England. Victor took us to the Tulum ruins, which are built right next to the beach. We went and swam in the 'grand' senote where we got to see baby turtles. Becky rescued a turtle who was stuck in root. We then went for lunch at a restaurant over looking a beautiful white beach. We left Mexico very early the next morning to start our ...

Day 85 - Swimming with whale sharks

A travel blog entry by jayandbob on Sep 07, 2013

... I was enjoying looking around under the water that much I was the last back in the boat. Then we went around to one of the nicest beaches on Isla Mujeres where the captain made shrimp cocktails for us and we drank beers in the water. There were heaps of other boats in the area from the whale sharing doing the same thing. We had our food and drinks and took a swim in the tropical water, then we were called back to go back to port. We got back to the start point ...
