The villas on the beach are great. The hotel outdated and in for renovation. However, friendly staff, good bar, good restaurant and a marvelous location.

This is a nice resort and good value for your money but the boss could learn a thing about customer service. We had a fan that was inadequate for our room, while our friend had two extremely powerful fans in his room. Complaining was simply frustrating as the owner could really care less about your comfort.

Nice story here. We have a personal driver. Now Sunny, our tour guide, always refers to him as "driver". Yesterday we took Driver and Sunny out to dinner and I told driver that calling him driver ("Driver are you joining us? Driver can you pick us up") made me feel like a colonial, so I inquired to his real name. Then he gave us something …

09/08/2014-We started the day by visiting the local supermarket where we picked up some bits for breakfast. We headed back to our hostel and enjoyed eating our yoghurt and fruit sat on the veranda of our bungalow with July and Julia. After this we spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach. It was nice to spent some time sunbathing and appreciate the idyllic surroundings. For lunch we headed to a local Mexican restaurant before exploring ...

... which was unbelievably brilliant where I made some lifelong friends. Here on Koh Tao is great as a solo traveller because of all the active things to do, however, I think I'd prefer to do the rest of the country with a group of friends (I've already planned about 3 more trips whilst just doing 1 trip!). Also, I don't really have many photos because we're spending all of our time either in a class room (not an interesting photo) or in the ocean... ...

... only beach here suitable for the purpose.
Swam around a bit but weren’t really getting into it. The boats that have car engines as outboards started coming in and out – really noisy! Plus my forearms were sore from paddling at Ko Samui. So we wussed out after about 10 minutes.

So back to Mae Haad, this time finding the turnoff which of course was through a resort! We also found that the signs pointing to ...

... for another time we were given stickers in different colours, so the boat crew can tell island of our destination. Ferry arrived after 1 hour, I got nice seat on the upper desk so was enjoying the views. Sea journey took another 4 hours, so by the time I arrived on Koh Tao was 11 am. Me and few other people were picked up by a taxi and took to Asia Divers Resort, where I was placed in my room and obviously had a loong ...
