The villas on the beach are great. The hotel outdated and in for renovation. However, friendly staff, good bar, good restaurant and a marvelous location.

Great place unless you have a problem

This is a nice resort and good value for your money but the boss could learn a thing about customer service. We had a fan that was inadequate for our room, while our friend had two extremely powerful fans in his room. Complaining was simply frustrating as the owner could really care less about your comfort.

Nice story here. We have a personal driver. Now Sunny, our tour guide, always refers to him as "driver". Yesterday we took Driver and Sunny out to dinner and I told driver that calling him driver ("Driver are you joining us? Driver can you pick us up") made me feel like a colonial, so I inquired to his real name. Then he gave us something …

... On the bus ride back to Hanoi, four of us (myself, Lachie, Arife and Sarah) decided we would grab an overnight bus straight to Sapa which is a city way up north close to the Chinese boarder. Guys, when I said in all my days I'd never seen anything as beautiful as Halong bay... Sapa was out of this world and is potentially my favourite place that I've had the pleasure of visiting on this trip. We got very lucky with the weather being beautiful for our entire stay as ...

A freaky evening and starting diving

... Matty decided we needed to google the hotel a little more because he'd worked out that the only ones who had had a strange experience in the night were only people who were doing the diving! So we did a bit of googling, we found out that a young girl has died at this hotel but we can't find out anything else no age, no reason for death or info on when it happened, if I wasn't freaked out before I am now! wish me luck.... Both with the diving and my second night in this hotel !,,, ...

It's meant me hunting down swimming classes, kids ballet lessons, yoga and Zumba. It's a community of expats who rallied round to try and find us a bigger house, or offered lifts. Or a community of locals who all have their tips for Ruperts rash, and who all greet the kids with hugs and kisses and 'you remember me? ...

... I ended up getting all you can eat pizza from a restaurant that makes over 20 different kinds of pizzas. A server came around every 5 minutes or so and put a couple slices of a different kind of pizza on my plate. It was quite interesting and tasty!

Yesterday we slept in a bit and then after a quick breakfast, headed to the dive shop (literally outside our door) and met up with Conor, Dan, and Sam to go to the boat. We carried our bags of gear that Sam packed for ...
