When we arrived at the beach area the boys changed into their suits in the car, since none of them wanted to go into the bath room, bugs and things you know. We then headed down the trail to the beach. For those who have never gone there, it is almost a quarter of a mile from the parking lot to the swimming area, all down hill, so you know what that meant after swimming. ... and I suppose when it rained there would be water, but nothing now! It was wide open, two small trees flanking the gravel drive. (For this we paid extra and almost as much as staying in a Holiday Inn Express & Suites.) We did have a picnic table and fire ring at the site, but since it was hot did not think we would be using the fire ring.

... flags and Convention 2015 is now officially started.

After the banquet, we sold convention raffle tickets for the free convention package ticket next year. In total, we sold $835 worth of tickets and Janet distributed bundles to District Directors to take back to sell to members. A great start to our convention.

... thank you cards to a few individuals, but she had received too many cards from Canada to send individual thank you notes. She was pleased when she realized we were all from Canada and she could thank us in person.

Wednesday night was line dancing in the pub. I had a lots of dances and even had a country jive dance with a cowboy.

... was a cultural highlight to understand how the slaughter of such a relative few could matter so much for Texas, American and the world. Even though I will confess it got boring pretty quickly, it was interesting to observe how the bravery of those who sacrificed themselves for something they hoped would be greater, is sometimes viewed as a trite cliché.
