Not every day is a perfect day

We woke on our last day to tropical storms we were a bit perplexed as what to do with our time. We had hoped we could spend the day on the beach or by the pool, but that wasn't to be. The rain held off for one last beautiful walk around the island and a quick visit to see Cassius the croc get fed (he's a big boy!) Then we jumped on an earlier …

Day trip to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef. wow! What an awesome place - thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Richard went snorkelling out to the reef and had amazing close up views of amazing variety of fish - no idea what they were but incredible to be so close to them. The coral was different colours, notably a sparkly emerald and …

We set off at 8am from the reef terminal for …

... We are enjoying the luxury of our new van and Ian is managing his reversing much better than our first trip. Thankfully I haven't had to drive yet and Ian is happy to drive the miles. I'm just about to send this off and I have wonderful news as of last night ..... Lauren and Tim have announced their engagement! We are very excited for them and the prospect of a wedding in the family. I wish we were home to celebrate with them, but I'm sure they will be happy to celebrate ...

... very large airport. A bit of a wait but a least this time when I asked nicely, the nice young lady gave us seats together.

We decided that a cup of coffee would be nice. So we went in search of such a beverage. We found a spot and discovered that coffee is not coffee but espresso. Tall black, flat white, and other strange names. My poor old brain, I still have trouble knowing the ...
