After packing our bags, eating breakfast, checking-out, and leaving our luggage with the bell boy, we drove past Hanalei to very north end of the highway. After ten one-lane bridges, we hit the end of the road at Haena. It was another beautiful beach with a lagoon formed by coral making for great snorkeling. From there, I hit the trailhead of a path along the Napali Coast. It took me about 30 minutes to go 1.8 miles. It was well worth it as there was a secluded beach with a river running into...
Haena, Hawaii, United States jbodenKevin was graduating from high school and we wanted to take a really great trip. We asked him to pick a place and we would do everything we could to get there. So, along with my brother, his wife Kaye, their kids, my mom and Shelley, Steve's mom and dad, and we can't forget Dex, we hopped on a jet plane and Maui is where we landed. It was a terrific trip from start to finish. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but it was amazing.

Maui, Hawaii, United States mauiboattours... We ate dinner in the comfort food cafe and had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. It was really yummie!

Today we are in MAUI and we are doing nothing! Had breakfast, took a walk and took a little nap. Didn't even get off the ship ...we are really boring!

Guess that does it for the day!
Kahului, Hawaii, United States scher-air... various things, from the fish we would see, to scuba signs and safety measures, etc. The ocean was so choppy on the surface that apparently only one other dive boat made it out for the day. Dive 1 was on the inner part of Molokini - we saw lots of eels, walls of hard coral, and fishies galore. It was very lovely under the surface. We even saw a shark. Although Maui Dive ...
Maui, Hawaii, United States sykospark... even the average American citizen is considering trading the Truck or Hummer for a Toyota, despite the pathetically low taxes in the US on fuel. These are also fearsome things to meet in your little Japanese compact hire car on a narrow road. Which all brings me back to the Hana Highway which goes round the north-east side of the bigger 10,000 ft hill, Puu Ulaula (red hill) and as it is known as the worlds most ...
Wailea, Hawaii, United States amery... Local Food - YUMMY We were super hungry after the deep sea charter and just wanted a little something before dinner. I saw this sign from the street while driving and wondered whether a little hole in the wall (or more accurately, food truck) called Local Food was going to be good (in Anchor Square right by Miyaki Fish Market). We figured we'd try. The ...
Maui, Hawaii, United States winsy... in a condo in a very nice location. Thanks to my Aunt Carol for arranging this contact, as we paid about a third of what most people do to stay in such a nice area in Maui. The best part of Maui was driving the coast to Hana. The total drive is only about 100km but it takes about 4 hours because the speed limit goes down to 15 and even 10km per hour as the roads are so twisty and curvy it is very hard to drive. However, it was probably the ...
Wailea, Hawaii, United States iceiceami... I mention were Josh and Shawna. I met Josh at this bar called Charlies, he was a bartender. I hung out with him most of the time, he taught me how to surf and introduced Nat and I to his friends. That's how Nat became friends with Shawna. Charlies it's sort of a western bar, it is owned by Willy Nelson, so it's got a little touch of his old school days. Through meeting J and S, we met so many other people and went to parties. They are good people, and created an awesome experience for us.
