... and on the beach. The land sloping down toward the Pacific Ocean and low surf. Lots of young surfers, Jack goes all prudish on us. Complaining about kids stripping their board shorts off in the street while changing....we tease him, the three of us saying he doesn't HAVE to look. South Carlsbad State Park

We leave San Diego to have a short City break and went up the coast to one of the Coast State Parks. Even at this time of the year the weekends are solid booked out. The funny part is you pay the same price for non-hook up or for hook-up… here you pay for the view

... which was gratefully accepted (did I tip too much or too little?). Going into the hotel, there is a big Lego pit right next to reception, which Miranda and William go straight to as I check us in. Behind reception is the largest wall of mini figures I've ever seen! Unfortunately our room is not ready yet, but they will hold our luggage here for us. We get our Legoland tickets, and ensure we have everything we need for a day out, and have ...

We woke up a bit late again and did not get going until after 10:30. After fetching our car (we are parking on the street about 4 blocks from hotel to avoid the outrageous $30 per night parking charge and the 11 floor climb to the parking garage!) we headed to Tom Hams Lighthouse for a Sunday brunch. Tom Ham's was always a favorite of ours. It sits at the end of Harbor Island on the San Diego Harbor and has ...
