... ago. We went on the Foothills Parkway around the West side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We jumped on 321 in to Townsend and entered the GSMNP on Little River Road. We went to Gatlinburg rather than the planned stop in Pigeon Forge because of our late start and the threat of rain. Lots of Pictures- Get a feel for the road. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...

Our first stop along the loop was right away as there were several horses in a ...

    ... 8217;s what I figured.

We decided not to stop again and headed for the RV Park. It was only about 1 miles further so we could always come back to the visitor’s center if we needed to. We pulled in to the park and Cheryl got out to check in. We were given a pull-through space with a bunch of trees near the entrance. We pulled in and as we got out Cheryl noticed a bunch of strange looking red bugs on the patio. She didn’t want to ...

... 8) and decided it wasn’t quite as costly as I had thought. We walked down the streets of Gatlinburg and eventually ended up at the Sky Lift and decided to go on and take the ride. It was so nice and peaceful, quiet and gently moving up to the top. When we got off we wandered around up top for a bit, took a couple of pictures, just enjoyed the view and then made our way back down. It was so peaceful I think ...
