... so she proceeded to turn the heat down a bit and just load the pots with the food and leaving us to fish it out again with the ladle. The fish were small but other than no heads were whole, including bones. So between retrieving the food and deciding if we could eat it or not the table became quite a mess (this is apparently normal for a Chinese meal table).

... it was all delicious. My favourite was a fish cooked in some sort of sauce, George later said it was carp, but I have no idea what the sauce was! The captain did a speech, which Royce translated, but then he had to leave to go back to the bridge to steer the boat - I much preferred him there as well!!!
