Down the fire escape stairs we found the lorry squashed, box filled, porter carrying lane. Next got really odd- we went down more stairs in the heart of a dark and derelict housing building, coming out onto the right street through someone's packing warehouse/shop, we made it. ... Before we went to the Soldiers, we visited the workshop where they are made and sold (yes a tourist factory) but it was interesting and no we did not buy a warrior! We had lunch at this workshop which is like a well oiled machine catering for thousands of tourists and the food was very good. This morning we had a nice visit to the red wood pagoda that was filled with culture and beauty. This afternoon we delved into Chinese superstition and various religions. Our journey took us to Fengdu, home of the Ghost City.

Dazu is only one of many more sites and over fifty thousand carvings have been found. These are in the best condition and have been recognized as a Unesco World Heritage site.
