We took a little side road exit - completely random one looking for gas and breakfast. We eventually found both in a very French town where nobody spoke English and the menus had no English on them. We are very proud that we figured out enough to order ...

I was anxious about our departure but it all went smoothly after all. Up at 6am and quick muffin and coffee and we were off the ship with our luggage by 6.40am. Did not do us much good as taxi that we had pre-ordered for 7.30am could not arrive early. The robbers (drivers of Southampton Cabs) tried to con us into taking their taxi to Gatwick for a mere 175 pounds one way. We held firm and our taxi ...

... a system like this one we seen I'm betting they are completely off grid.

Our day driving finished in Kingston. A total of 162 km taking us 5 hours by bus. Told you it was slow. We held up in a park just outside of Kingston called Rideau Acres. This was a very nice campground. We had a beautiful spot next to the waters or the Rideau water way. As the sun went down and we finished a delicious meal the sun set was amazing. It was a great day in the magic bus.

... that because there are a thousand islands scattered all the way along the river. Sioux tried counting them but in the end we will just have to take their word for it. Virtually every island, large or tiny, has at least one house. They range from mansions to tiny holiday houses and all can only be reached by boat. They're deserted at the moment due to be being surrounded by ice but judging by the number of boats we've seen on the hard at the many marinas along the way, it must ...

What a mixed bag --- but we're happy!

The day started overcast - a little hazy. Sun broke out, with humidity, around noon. Maeve, Pam and I played in the water for hours! Maeve is super exhausted, but so terribly happy! The shore and out for at least 50 feet is rocky, but a nice temperature. Very lucky to have the water at our doorstep.

In between we read (Pam - The Almost Moon; Janet - The Kite Runner; Maeve - blade of grass) and relaxed - ...
