    Koh Kong so far

A travel blog entry by niomioconnor on Jul 03, 2014

Yesterday we arrived by bus in Koh Kong. The bus station is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and the journey was much shorter than we expected so we weren't really sure if we had ended up in the right place but thankfully all was well and we arrived at the hotel shortly after. Our hotel wasn't the cheapest option, but still only costs just under three pounds a night per person. We decided that we wanted to invest in decent accommodation so ...

... thing in the world. We suspect drug usage Not willing to be held to ransom for more than one drink we head off and get sucked into the reggae bar again as it has an atmosphere so we go in to make the most of it. You can't beat a good bit of Pato Banton........ ......or Aswad lol ....or Ini Kamoze.... They seen ...

... short boat ride over to the island.

We got to the island at around 7pm. After 2 full days and a night of travelling, we had finally made it!

Ko Chang is in the Gulf of Thailand, and is Thailand second largest island. Its very close to border of Cambodia.

We had booked a weeks accommodation in a cool bungalow before hand. But we had arrived a day earlier, so we had to find some where else to spend the first night.

    We ...

... constructed over a culvert by just pouring concrete into a mould across the gap with no reinforcing rods inside. The supporting edges alongside the culvert had collapsed, possibly in the rainy season, and the bridge had just collapsed. Alongside they had built a temporary crossing of bamboo an hardwood planks for all the cars etc to use. Arrived back after 90 mins at 10.15 for a late but well deserved ...
