Yesterday we arrived by bus in Koh Kong. The bus station is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and the journey was much shorter than we expected so we weren't really sure if we had ended up in the right place but thankfully all was well and we arrived at the hotel shortly after. Last night we were walking down the 'pier' in Bang Bao when the power was cut. It was disconcerting as the walkway, just above the sea, is a path about a metre and a half wide, and perhaps half a kilometre long, and on both sides the small shops and houses have been attached or built on stilts, hanging ...

We got to the island at around 7pm. After 2 full days and a night of travelling, we had finally made it!
Ko Chang is in the Gulf of Thailand, and is Thailand second largest island. Its very close to border of Cambodia.
We had booked a weeks accommodation in a cool bungalow before hand. But we had arrived a day earlier, so we had to find some where else to spend the first night.
... constructed over a culvert by just pouring concrete into a mould across the gap with no reinforcing rods inside. The supporting edges alongside the culvert had collapsed, possibly in the rainy season, and the bridge had just collapsed. Alongside they had built a temporary crossing of bamboo an hardwood planks for all the cars etc to use. Arrived back after 90 mins at 10.15 for a late but well deserved ...
