    ... such a storm in all my life. It continues for hours with flashes of lightning so bright they could blind. At the storm's height these flashes are going off at many per second. At midnight, despite our room being safely buried at ground level beneath two nearly touching rooves the bed is still being regularly lit by white light through the windows. And the rain hitting the roof is deafening.

    It was an easy and beautiful way to fall ...

    ... Apparently steps are being made to address the problem, but this is Asia and I guess it's just not a priority, its the only thing that let's this place down, cos it's beautiful and the people are so friendly.

    After my little trek through the jungle dump I headed straight back to the nice beach and took a dip, then lazed the rest of the day with my new Finnish friends and our friendly owner. Leaving tomorrow heading further north to Penang Island....

    ... we went and for the first time voices another bunch of explorers and they caught us up and shot past, but at least we were on track. The forest or jungle was thick and the trail was not clear but after two and a half hours we got to the Temple which meant we had covered 9km and it was pleasing that we had done it. Did we go in and look around the temple NO we got a taxi back and collapsed. Later a guide said it was a difficult trail and we might be capable ...

    ... allowing us time to enjoy the inclusive breakfast (the other option would have been to rush out before 7am and head to the ferry terminal).

    We have enjoyed our stay in Pangkor, and the lack of tourists really made it feel like we had escaped off the normal tourist route slightly. We of course look forward to our next stop in Georgetown, which will be doubly interesting to me as I have been there previously 6 years ago. I am curious to how much I will actually ...

    ... br> We began our day with breakfast for 5 people for $4.00 yes $4.00 then a fun drive up Penang Hill in a 4 wheeler to see the city. Yummy I got a Starbucks so miss my coffee from home. Fabulous lunch and tour of the city. Jim is ready to move here zero taxes and cost of living so low. A full time live in $100 yes a month....... HUMMMM maybe we will :-)
