... to go back as the sandflies were driving me crazy. We waited a half hour then headed back down the beach to go home. Just a we got almost back to the ranger station we got word that another one had come up to the beach. Half the group decided they had had enough, I had too but couldnīt go possibly go back, and the rest of us raced back along the beach this time 2km, at high tide so the were walking right through the deposits of driftwood, it was like the crypton factor. We ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica garyjampot... were either spent where 'Girls drink for Free' in town, or making friends our fellow hostel dwellers; RonRico Rum proved very useful for this!
By the time we forced ourselves to leave Tamarindo, we think we'd managed to befriend pretty much everyone there - both local and visiting. A point pr oven by the number of farewell stops we had to make as Milly drove us off into the sunset in our new 4x4 rental (called Alex).
... blog. So dear fans, friends, family, I thank you for your patience.
If you haven't figured out, it seems I am cursed and not consistent enough to get my picture taken. The first day they took pictures and videos, I got several waves caught on video but Louis didn't take pictures cuz he thought Rafa already got pics of me, then the next day we were at Pico's and Rafa and Louis didn't know where we were, so no photos that day, when I had probably my best day on ...
... in on a few so the Indo board has truly helped my balance!!
Pura Vida, I will post more later and try to take some pics of some of the waves and nice weather. Imperial is calling me. You all should be jealous of how amazing it is here!
Quote of the day-
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe ...
... really hot and after walking around a little while we decided that we didnt want to go on the hiking tour. So after we got back to the hostel we were able to cancel our hike and get our money back. So we decided to lay out and swim for a little bit then hung out in the hammocks and decided later to go to the lava tour at 8. Which we were hesistant to do just because all the other people ...
La Fortuna, Costa Rica bell.costarica... she left the day before) Thursday Feb 7th, Our last day! Mental note to self .... book 2 weeks vacation next time! We all gathered in the lobby for our pick up only to find out the plane was delayed by a couple of hours, so we all got drinks and headed down to the beach for one last "soak up the sun". The plane ride home was epic unfortunately. The plane ended up being 4 hours late (coming from Toronto where ...
Liberia, Costa Rica amonro2... kip. Every 3 hours the ferry would dock and a few people would disembark and even more would get on. The shouting seating manager (big fella, not to be trifled with) chastised people who were taking up too much space (me included) and miracuously everyone got a seat. Finally to everyones relief we arrived in San Carlos at 5.30 am (pitch black). Me and the really nice couple Anne-Marie (Irish girl who comes from near Doneghal but lived in Madrid for the last 5 years) and Antoine ...
La Fortuna, Costa Rica rolls... pics downloaded as I don't have that many. So, mission accomplished. With all this travelling, I haven't eaten so after a nice shower, I get some food and am in bed by 9!! I wake up in what I think is the middle of the night because people are really noisy in the common area of the hostel. I get really annoyed. The jetlag is killing me and I can't get proper sleep. I decide to go talk to them and look at the clock... it's 9.45!!!! haha! I was convinced it was ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica lizardom... sale in the Bagel Barn in Antigua. Met these 2 american girls as well and we ended up going out along with a crazy Ozzie and a couple of Candians and had a fairly heavy night! They left and I just bummed around, chilling out in the awesome hamock chairs and played pool with this crazy brazillian waster who was like 35 and hadn't ever had a proper job and a swiss bloke as well. Met 3 Irish girls as well who were really cool, was a shame they were going the other way though ...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica dan_gee... off on the beach. Where the first question we were asked was "Where's your car?" Then, after we had gotten room keys, the girl assigned to take us to the apartment we were staying in up the road from the actual hotel, Brittany, asked "Did you bring a car?" Brittany said that the hotel provided a taxi pickup service from the boat drop off, and we were too tired to protest the lack of that information earlier. After taking us up to the apartments and pointing out the ...
