Wow, the heat is obvious from the minute you get off the plane! The resort isn't very far from the hotel. I arrived on Saturday, and the sun sets early here- about 6:30 at this time of year. On Sunday morning, I went to the Sleeping Giant, which is a garden with orchids and nice walkways. The only downside was the uninvited mosquitoes....
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji alyttleFiji is about 4 hours north of Auckland and comprises a main island Viti Levu and many smaller ones. Emma was a little nervous about possible cyclones and coups but there hadn't been any of the former for 5 weeks and the last coup was over a year ago so I was hopeful. We had decided to spend 3 nights at a resort on Viti Levu and then we were booked on a 3 night cruise. We duly landed at Nadi airport and took a short taxi ride to the handily placed First Landing Resort just south of Lautoka on...

... water was so clear you could look right through it! When we arrived at our tiny island we
were greeted by a whole group of native Fijians singing us a welcome song. They gave
us an orientation about the hotel. We were then escorted to our little hut in a gorgeous
garden. We spent the rest of the day laying on the beach! The next day we went over
the hill to a village were we went to there market and to there kindergarten. On Friday
I ...
Octopus Island Fiji, Western, Fiji lpeacockWoke up this morning just outside of Nadi at Pt Denarua. This is a tourist hot spot with 5 resorts in close proximity and a newly established commercial centre. Judging by the waterfront real estate it is also quite expensive.

14 of us set out this morning by catamaran for a little atoll called South Sea Island. This is the post card ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji craig61... think much of the horse as I cannot get it to canter much more than 5 strides even though I was promised a fast horse. However after some distance the horse suddenly stops and turns round and literally sprints the whole way back - now that is more like it!! Just a brilliant feeling galloping along the beach! So I definitely enjoyed my time in Fiji though a shame that there was very little sun!But it's on onwards and upwards to Sydney and to see Victoria there! x x x x x x x
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji beannie84... when we got there and the Blue Lagoon was as gorgeous as I remembered. Crystal clear, warm water, gentle waves and white sand - heaven. We decided to walk round the outside of the island to go back to our resort rather than attempt the scramble over the top again, and this proved to be equally if not more challenging as the tide wasn't out and we had to wade through waist-deep water and do some more scrambling, this time over rocks. I managed some more falling over, this time ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji jessjamie... the time you have. live for no regrets and make everyday killer. get drunk, get into a bar fight, stay up all night, smoke cigarettes, get a tatoo, and trade t-shirts with a complete stranger just because it seems like a good idea while your hammered. so home here we come. good bye to everyone that made our trip ****ing amazing, i hope to remeber you all who i haven't already forgot. and liver, im sorry but it had to be done.
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji tsquared... to leave, but because I still had my wallet and money in hand, the guard refused to open the door for me. Only when I had secured my money in the wallet and had placed the wallet deep in my pocket did the door momentarily open for me to walk through, before it again closed and locked behind me with a resounding thud. Once more we were back on the streets of Lautoka where hawkers awaited us at every turn. Taking Lynda's arm, we turned back towards where ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji laurieslifeSo we got the groceries, laundry is done, checked out of customs and got the golf cart batteries. Between all the things we had to do we even managed to go to the Fijian Customs Auction. The auction was interesting but we didn't find any good deal. There was booze, rubber boots and 1,000 pairs of workman boots ...

I have seen the whole ordeal as a

test of nerves and a psychological challenge for my phobias and have to

say therapy was successful!
