on 17-21 November 2009 I had the opportunity to visit Bandung in order to follow the workshop document management system in the telecom PDC 2009 bandung. My visit was the second time since 1994. departs from surabaya with executive class train Argo Wilis at 07.30 hours on Tuesday morning. expensive trains worth 205 thousand rupiah is very comfortable. The journey takes more than 12 hours and got on bandung at 20:00. so tired of it because it happens to rain heavily.

I have just enough time to get some food and check my email and this is when I find out about my mom being sick. I have a 12 hour mini bus ride to digest the whole thing. 12 hours to go 200 kilometers.....traveling in java requires a great deal of patience.

... ce trois jours!!!! que dire de plus!!!! 1 iere journee (3 janvier), nous sommes partie de notre guest house pour aller au Mont. On devait faire 100 metre selon l'agence de voyage mais en realite c'etait 5km, nous avons peste tout le long mais on est arrive quand meme au pourtour du cratere, qui fait 10km de diametre (impressionant). ... Il roulait super vite et il semblait vouloir conduire plus souvent a droite au lieu de gauche. Il ne tolerait aucun vehicule devant lui. Quelques depassement "cow-boy". Par contre un language routier difficille a saisir pour moi mais qui semble bien compris ici. Alors nos revoicie dans le monde civilisee a Sanur (Bali) pres de la plage que nous irons voir plus tard. ... strangest "buffet" I've ever seen. Can't say i was a fan of my first indo meal - stuck mostly to the white rice - everything else just kinda tasted "strange" to me. Both Trev and i were fast asleep by 8pm and went on to bag a dozen (hrs of sleep that is!) - think Kate was enthralled by the extensive satellite TV so all was good. Never met a breakfast buffet I didn't like till Tuesday morning... It was like a dinner buffet with chicken, rice, desserts, fish ...
