2012 Dive Trip - Day 1

For the afternoon, after cleaning up of course, I choose to spend it at the bar overlooking the water, having a beer (or more), having some calamari, writing this blog, checking email, etc. I feel a nap coming on later before dinner. I think we'll go eat at a place I know on Islamorada.
We did go eat in Islamorada. Had a nice blackened snapper. Should be a couple pics of the restaurant seen here too.

The Keys
... snorkels to use on the state parks beaches instead. We paid a $60 deposit and headed to the water. One benefit was that we didn't need wetsuits for this area (although really it wasn't that cold).
Greg didn't tell us that he'd never snorkelled (hence the original plan wouldn't have been a great idea) so when he dived straight in, he immediately got a mouth and nose full of seawater! Once he'd learnt to breathe ...

Making Our Way to Key West
... 7ish and checked in. The campground was packed and full of people outside hanging out. There was tons of music playing from different sites. It was really cool to be able to just hang outside. We grilled up some chicken, venison, pineapple, and potatoes for dinner. Jared made a fire so we could make some smores for dessert and we had a great time just chatting and hanging out.
