Styling with the royals
We have finally arrived in the beautiful town of Monte-Carlo, Monaco the home of the late Princess Grace. The famous Royal Casino from the James Bond movies and the lifestyle of the extremely rich and famous. Bill Gates home is the size of a deluxe hotel and Tom Hanks home has a pool that over looks the cliffs to the ocean. The yachts are the size …

I'm in Monte Carlo baby!
Well, I am writing this entry from Switzerland. Sitting at the Geneva airport. My flight from Barcelona to Geneva (to connect onto a flight to Nice) was delayed and then delayed again which meant I missed my connecting flight. Was originally angry about this cause I have lost a day of travel time, but it has given me the opportunity to sort some …
Monte Carlo, an unbelievable place
Monaco was unbelievable. I was awestruck most of the time by the fact that I was actually in Monte Carlo! Immaculate streets and gardens/parks, very clean. Designer labels and fashionable people everywhere. So small in area that every available inch of land is consumed, but still so much traffic. Amazing hills and views. The selection of photos …

Historical Traveler Reviews Fairmont Monte Carlo Monte-Carlo
Excellent but expensive
Overall I'd give this another half a star. Room was 12.5' by 24.5' plus bathroom with shower - nice to have a separate toilet, very modern, king sized bed, adjustable heating/cooling, room safe, bar fridge, hairdryer. Excellent location, staff. No alarm clock, coffee making facilities. The only minor annoyance was a very noisy flagpole outside - it was very windy and some metal kept banging against the pole, keeping us awake.
Satisfactory but not 5 star quality
Pros: The rooms were fairly large with the usual facilities such as bath, bathrobes, slippers and hairdryers. The beds were huge! The maids were so friendly and did a superb job on cleaning the room - two thumbs up.
Cons: Whilst the beds were big, they were not exactly what we would term comfortable, no coffee making facilities, you have to pay an extra 12Euros to use the gym (please do not consider it to be complimentary as other hotels) and not very welcoming reception staff - we had to carry our luggage up and down the reception area which contained several steps.
Conclusion: Acceptable but not worth the money paid. Have stayed at much grander, better facilitated and friendlier staff for 1/4 less.

Especially the American women who has been ther for years. 24 hour business center. Each room provides gifts of free night shirts and slippers. Not to be missed in your lifetime. Gran Prix race runs right under hotel. Front central rooms excellent for watching very close up. Total pampering!
Mon premier amour
I'm absolutely agree with all positive reviews about Monte Carlo Grand Hotel. We stay there almost every year for a couple of days on our way to Sanremo music festival, since our first visit in 1997, and it never changes. It remains perfect with its unmatches views on the sea or Formula-1 treck, french breakfasts, warm pool, polite personal and glamourous chambres.I just wanted to add some photos of my favorite hotels of Earth.
FANTASTIC! The Best Room I Have Ever Stayed In!
I requested a sea front room on the top floor and was pampered from the time I sent my first e-mail request. They arranged for my limo pickup from the port and delivery to the airport upon the completion of my stay.
The room and view were both stunning! The sea front wall was a 12' wide, floor to ceiling sliding glass door leading to a patio with teak dinette and lounger. Quiet and beautiful! The hotel has its own casino and is in a fantastic location seaside of the Monte Carlo Casino.
If you want the very best, the Monte Carlo Grand is it! E-mail them directly for rates and packages.
Go For It!!
This hotel was worth the cost. It was expensive but really great. The view from the room was beautiful. The location could not be any better. I drove up, dropped off the car and did not need it for 3 days. Relaxing by the pool was awesome. If you are driving a lot before you get to this area then this is a great place to rest. Do not rest in Cannes or the place between. (I cannot remember the other place that we went to after Cannes and before Monte Carlo. It was so bad I have erased it from my memory. Although if that were the case I would have never remembered Cannes.) Anyway, the Grand's staff was helpful. The room was huge and clean. The bathroom was also large and clean. The casino was nothing special but we were not gamblers. The cafe had great desserts. They also had very cool day-trips for hotel guests that were free. The one to a small town in Monaco was supposed to be really wonderful. We did not do it but heard it from some other people. I would definitely stay here again. Spend the extra cash for a great Monte Carlo experience! (I swear I do not work for them!)
Beautiful views of the sea
Beautiful Hotel!! The view of the sea is worth every penny. I could have sat out on my balcony all day. The staff was wonderful.
Fabulous Grand Hotel
I stayed at the Grand Hotel while traveling on business. Hotel is definitelya 5 star hotel. Staff was friendly and very accomodating. Rooms were oversize, very clean and nicely furnished. The hotel is located on a cliff, with great pool, overlooking the Mediterranean - what an awesome view! I will definitely stay there again!
A Window On How The Other Half Live
Attended a business meeting at the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel in mid-June.
The hotel exceeded expectations, but I found myself adding the qualifier "...and for the price it darn well should..."
We felt unlucky to not have been assigned a room with a sea view, but overlooking Des Spelugues provided an almost-as-interesting procession of Ferraris, Maseratis, Bentleys, Rolls Royces and the like.
The room was very large by European standards, and well kept; common areas were pleasant if not exceptional. TV reception and selection was pretty poor, if that's important; location was excellent, being a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beach at Larvotto, and a little shorter to the casino and restaurant area.
Do not let your guard down: an acquantaince attending the meeting came out of his bathroom in time to watch a woman, dressed in bathing suit and with wet hair, leave with his wallet and lose herself in the maze that is the Grand Hotel's hallways in a matter of seconds.
Beautiful
Have been return to the Monte Carlo Grandhotel many times and even its better than before. Our room with balcony to the sea was beautiful and quite. All staff was very helpful and friendly. No wonder, that readers of Condé Nast Traveler Magazin put the Hotel on 5th place in Europe. Stay here and you will feel Monte Carlo..
