We made it! I had Mandy drive the last section of the journey because there were mountain roads and I'm not good with mountains. I tend to freak out on any curves. If you saw a funny looking guy in Eastern Tennessee with his eyes closed and white-knuckling the dashboard, that was likely me. the surf pounding against the beach but, you'er not at the beach. The

smell of a salt marsh. Here it smells of the earth's primordial soup,

ordered and installed a hitch to receive the new bike rack. We still
have to decide on a tow system and get that taken care of over the
next couple months. Extra thanks again to John and Jessica for all
their help and company! Did I forget ...

I was so excited to go home with Elizabeth. She said I could go to Edisto Beach with her family for the weekend. I had never been to the beach before! I could not decide what to pack!
After school, we drove to Edisto. It was a long drive - about four hours! When we got there, Elizabeth was so tired that I told her we should just go to bed.
We woke up bright and early. We watched television ...

... was the Kiawah Island Golf and Beach Resort, an exclusive enclave located about 30 minutes from Charleston. While we had originally considered staying at Kiawah so Michelle could enjoy the beach and I could play among the five world-class golf courses on the property, we opted instead for the historic district of downtown Charleston.

We arrived at The Sanctuary, the five-star hotel on Kiawah, and it proved to be among the nicest hotels we have ...
