Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...
... chose the route to Mt. Mitchell via Blue Ridge Pkwy. However, partway along, we found that the road was closed. A laundry service was added and the students were required to have the clothes washed there. The service continues and is included in tuition. If you choose to wash your own clothes, the washers and driers on campus are available, free of charge.
