It was great being at the back! We
climbed up the stairs and Monique spoke to us choppily through the
two-way radio. I could hear her clearly, then it would just cut out.
I got the drift. It was sunny, but not hot and there was MUCH less
wind than I thought there would be. We squinted and looked off to the
southern stretch of Surfers Paradise. You could see toy cars and the
tram rolling by. The canals were one of the most incredible ...

We arrived Friday afternoon to Thunderbird Park high up on Tamborine Mountain. It is such a beautiful place bush camping on the river with so much to do. There is little phone reception so its nice to just enjoy the great outdoors. We are here for a few days which will give us time to explore. Sophie and Eli loved climbing the rocks on the river in the rainforest. ...

At the moment I am on the bus up to Brisbane.

I had a great time in Surfers Paradise, which I would say is similar to Miami. I ended up staying in a great hostel with 2 girls from England and one from the Netherlands. As a group we went on a bar crawl which was a lot of fun.

So far I am really enjoying the east ...

... squeeze to fit our Winni into it. There is no room for our tent next to Winni however we could set up in the forest nearby which the Rangers said was allowable. We set up our chairs, had a cup of tea and then it started raining, just a light rain. It is rainforest! Went for an evening walk to survey our surroundings. Walked to Moran Falls, The Clearing, O'Reilly's House, the O'Reilly Village, the Retreat and the start of the Python Trail. We found the campsite toilets and hot ...

... leave here on Monday and head to the coast to check out Byron Bay and leave Queensland after almost 7 months. We have a house sit organised in Coffs Harbour from December 14 to 28 - thought we would get off the road over Christmas. Its a nice place in the hills overlooking the town with 7 acres, no pets and a lovely pool on the balcony - shouldn't be too hard to take and we will have a good look around the area.
