      Slot Club Ripoff

      from

While they've got a nice hotel, their slot club is a RIPOFF. The first time you stay there, they'll give you a lot of comps; but if you ever return they want you to make up for it by playing twice as long before they'll give you anything.

I even asked their slot host, "You mean to tell me that I can go down

the street and get comped for my play; but if I stay here I *won't* get

comped on my play?" - She said, "Yes, that's about the size of it" so I

said, "Fine - in that case I'll take your money and leave" (I was up by

      about $100 at that point)

I went down to the Hilton where they comped me for my room and gave me

a nice steak dinner to boot, for the same amount of play that would

have earned me nothing at the Eldo.

      Outstanding

      from

Our two-day stay at the El Dorado was outstanding. We had a mid-week deal of $36/night. The standard tower room had been recently re-done and was exceptionally clean. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that the 24-hour restaurant was not - coffee shop was closed at night.

Great, Family Owned Hotel in Reno

      from

This was the first time I have ever stayed at the Eldorado. Normaly, I stay at the Atlantis, which I really don't enjoy that much, but I decided to try the Eldorado. Boy, am I glad I did. The room was very clean, the staff extrremely friendly, and the atmosphere was intimate and very romantic. You definitly don't feel like a number at the Eldorado...you fell like family.

      RECONSIDER!

      from

Reconsider if you're planning on staying at the Eldorado. A standard room is equivalent to a Motel 6 and the deluxe rooms are no better than a Holiday Inn. My room was filty (dirty bathroom, the entire carpet was moist, stains on the pillow). Eldorado's website claims that "Casino player magazine named Eldorado as having Reno's best rooms and suites," (the magazine was probably published 20 years ago). the hotel even uses the word "contemporary" to describe its rooms. It's only contemporary if you're still living in the 70's. Don't believe any website pictures, they only show images of the hotel suites...standard rooms are by far substandard. The room keys get demagnetized easily, and the front desk service is unresponsive to customer needs. The hotel location is unbeatable, but take into consideration that Silver Legacy, Circus Circus and Eldorado are all linked together (meaning, you never have to step outside to move from one casino/hotel to the other). I've stayed at the other two hotels and both are much better. Silver Legacy comes highly recommended, and it's newer much. If you enjoy Eldorado's casino or buffets, I recommend going there, but stay at the other two hotels.

      Good, but be demanding...

      from

It depends.... The first night I arrived at 12:30am (when you get whatever is left over) and got a room in the old section. It hadn't been redecorated since the the early 80's and the air conditioning was totally inadequate. The second night I asked for a better room in the newer tower--at first they gave me a room that looked liked the one I already had, but with a better view--I complained & they gave me one of the newly renoveated rooms, which was much better. Lesson 1: ask for one of the newly renovated rooms. Lesson 2: Eat in their buffet--it's the best downtown, is decorated nicely, is very comforatble, and the service is very good.

      Good place to stay

      from

I originally booked a tower room. And was upgraded to a spa suite. It was very clean and comfy. Especially since I was travelling with my wife and baby. The bathroom area was clean too. Very courteous and professional receptionist. Only good things to say about this hotel. Also stayed at the Silver legacy in a tower room. The receptionists are unprofessinal and not even polite. The room we stayed in had some smoke smell in it but was clean.

      Forget the Eldorado

      from

Stayed May 9th and 10th, 2003. Was given a room on the 10th floor in the Sierra tower. Although this was a non-smoking floor, there was inadequate ventilation and the cigarette smell was very prevalent throughout the entire floor. The room was very small, and the air/heat unit did not function well. A huge turnoff was also the numerous "information" desks which were actually time-share hawkers. The hotel and casino personnel were very nice, however this hotel needs lots of work if it continues to price its rooms at comparable rates to the Silver Legacy, which is a much, much nicer place to stay and gamble.

      Nice Hotel

      from

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. I especially liked how it was connected by indoor walkways to The Silver Legacy and Circus circus. Also liked the fact that you could take your players card and swipe it through a machine to see how many comp dollars you have earned. Then when your ready to use them, all you have to do is gie your card at the restraunt when its time to pay and it deducts off automatically. My only complaint is that we decided we wanted to stay another night and they woudl not give us the same rate. This was during the week when it was slow. You woudl have thought that they would have wanted the business. We left and stayed somewhere else.

      I would stay again.

      from

nice place, clean, restaurant food good. gambling tables have low minimums ($5), most dealers are friendly, pit bosses are not as likeable. service of cocktails are frequent. , i felt uncomfortable with feeling obligated to use the the shuttle bus and bell services. no swimming pool, yet. hotel is in downtown, walking distance to souveniors, other casinos, etc.

      Great place to stay

      from

My husband and I have stayed at many of the casinos in Reno, and by far we liked the Eldorado the best. The rooms are clean, large and wonderfully appointed. We would recommed this hotel to anyone. The rates are great and the amendities are worth every penny. I feel that everyone should try the Eldorado at least once.

It was only 7:45 when we got back, so I couldn't go to sleep despite the exhaustion I felt. Instead, I stayed up for a couple hrs, learning a brilliant new card game and getting some bonding time with the Kiwi group. >>>The next morning came early (of course), and before we went to the rafting office for breakfast, we took a drive to a waterfall.
