Explorer Drive Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia, 4852
Woken up very early by fishermen driving by. Dropped off sabrina for skydiving then we headed to the beach where she would land. Got to the beach and it was windy!!! Set up the kite, but not enough wind :( Wind gradually picked up, but never a lot. Skydivers landed on the beach 15m in front of us which was really cool. Went for a rainforest ...

We took a walk along a newly established walkway just in from the coast leading northwards along Mission Beach, over Clump Point (which is formed from huge chunks of volcanic basalt rock) to Narragon Beach. There is an interesting plaque telling the aboriginal dreamtime story about the way the rocks were formed and the animal characters involved but is almost incomprehensible without some deeper understanding of the whole culture. Our photo of the ...
... I arrived at Mission Beach. This is long strip of beautiful, white sandy beach backed by several small resorts which exist purely as holiday venues. There is little of interest apart from the beach and the usual tours out to the reef but the area is very popular with families with small children. It's saving grace is that it is situated at the southern end of the rain forest and there are some good forest walks within a short distance of ...
Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia jatty... accommodation but no high rises, lots of cafes and restaurants but it’s not too overwhelming and still has a low key feel.
The council caravan park is the best located one of many in the area, the price is indeed as we expected and we can scarcely believe it is so - exceptional value. A playground is opposite our site and the beach is 50m away, perfect!

... out. We walked along the esplanade and then had a chinese buffet. It has a great lagoon in the middle of the town which attracts lots of people to swim in the evenings. We then headed back up to Kuranda and stayed the night.
We went out walking today along the rainforest trails and visited Barron Falls. It is quite sad in Kuranda as all of the original tribes people who would have ...
... and fluffy looking…No chance of a picture we carried on to the carpark of the retreat..
Turns out the carpark is some way away from the retreat itself. We had two options …We could ring through to the retreat and get a 4-wheeler to pick us up, or there was a ...
Hello there again again.
So we are currently at mission beach. We arrived yesterday, but not before reluctantly stopping over at a crocodile farm. Which is obviously not terrifying enough, so they decided to make this farm especially for the crocs that has eaten animals or humans so were forced to live on the farm instead. And we held a baby one - see facebook for photo evidence.
So that was ...
... too much mash so I saved some for lunch the next day! In the evening we played more cards then played Absolute Balderdash. Its a game where you have to make up definintions of off words or write a synopsis to a film and then theres an actual right answer and you have to vote for the answer which sounds the best. Good fun!! The next day (the 6th may) it rained all day. Again. We played more cards (a theme with Than and Aline!!!) and ...
Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia wollifer... hour plane journey and trying to avoid the small talk with the person next to you. The Greyhound was filled with a mixture of tourists like myself - old and young. It stops off for about 30 minutes every few hours to allow for refreshments and reshaping of ****. It's got several rules - the most interesting of which I find is that men are not allowed to go topless - I've seen this in several places now - eg on the scuba dive trip - men were required to ...
Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia codownsean... wandered around the town (not much to see), we drove a little way in to the rainforest where we turned back at a ford, which we decided was a little too deep to cross in our car. We stopped here to swim at the merger of two fast moving streams that merged just below this point. On the way back to Mission Beach we kept an eye out for cassowaries. We saw none but did come across some scrub turkeys. We had lunch at the ...
