We shrugged off our sea legs and headed north up the coast of Florida from Ft. Lauderdale. We drove to the International Speedway at Daytona Beach, home of the Daytona 500, to view the track from the grand stands. NASCAR founder, Bill France, opened the racetrack in 1959. It is a 2.5 mile speedway with a 3.56 mile infield road course.
