The room was really great. Two room suite overlooking the lake. Clean and spacious. Enough beds for 5 people comfortably.

The treason for two stars ... The pools were kinda gross. Too many little people. They had two of the pools closed and we could only imagine the reason the pools were closed with such a large crowd ... Well ... With so many little people you can only guess.

We did find the the life guards and staff very attentive. Good job folks ... I don't know how you cure gross pools.

Not as nice as we thought it would be at 1st sight.....

      from

We stayed at Edgewater East for 4 nights we got it on priceline for $40 a gret price. We were really surprised at the exterior and interior condition of the hotel it does not look as nice as it does in photos. Our room was a lower room our view was the driveway. They had remodeled and the wallpaper was falling of wall and room had a couple other problems. But it was the most quiet room we have ever been in. The pool was huge and not that busy. They had free bikes you can use for 2 hours also wagons for kids. We walked to Canal Park a 2 mile walk but you can also use shuttle service. Cocktail hour starting at 5 , you get 2 free cocktails. The breakfast was great.. At first we were sure we would not like the hotel after 1st night decided we would stay there again...

Not sure if we will visit again

      from

We only stayed for one night but we were a little disappointed. Maybe it was because of the great reviews I read on TripAdvisor. I recommend that you verify which building and room you are staying in. Our room was mostly underground with a view of the driveway. To get to the pool we had to walk down a hall, up the stairs, down another hall, over the walkway, down another hall, and then down an elevator to get to there. The pool was small and very overcrowded. The whirlpool was nice but also very crowded. I was wondering the whole time if I am the only parent that watches their children. Kids were bringing tubes into the hot tub and bumping into everyone. We got up early for the buffet breakfast. The only thing they had to offer was cereal, muffins, juice, milk and fruit. I'm not sure what is so special about that. I will think twice before we stay there again.

Excellent & Polite Best Western Edgewater

      from

The Best Western Edgewater Hotel in Duluth MN Goes WAY out of their way to serve and help. We stay there EVERY summer at least once using the " ADMIRAL CARD " that can be purchased at the VISTA FLEET gift shop in the DECC ( by the Irvan and tug on bay. This card gives you one night stay at hotel , two EXCELLENT prime rib dinners , and two EXCELLENT lunch crusis along with 15 more cruises for $150.00 and if you want another night stay at Edgewater for $99.00 anytime . The Edgewater goes out of their way to be helpful and nice. We went camping and were rained out they only had a few rooms left on MEMORIAL DAY weekend , but they went out of their way to help us out with our situation. With huge breakfast, pool, whirlpool, play area the whole family is happy. You would not be dissapointed by going here.

      We would stay again

      from

We would stay here again. The kids enjoyed all the things to do-especially the pool (larger than the average motel pool)and the water was warm enough to enjoy! They enjoyed basketball and ping-pong as well. Breakfast was good-the staff were friendly and helpful.

      Best Place in Duluth

      from

We stay at the Edgewater every summer with our family. They by far are the best deal around the area. The breakfast is always good and full of choices. Our children love the pool, playground, and mini-gof. Almost everytime we have gone the hotel has also had a super jump for the kids to jump in. They team up with the Vista Fleet and you can get the best deals by far on rooms and cruises. Rooms are large and clean. They only problem we have ever incountered in our years of staying here is an occasional rude housekeeper.....but everything else outweighs that by far.

      Perfect

      from

Our stay was great. We had a large room with king size bed, which was very clean. Our room faced the Lake, a wonderful view to wake up to in the morning. Breakfast was OK, by the time we got there, there wasn't much to choose from. Overall, I would stay there again without hesitation.

      A Great Stay

      from

I and my family have stayed at the Edgewater for 5 years. We book a year in advance for the Grandmas Marathon. The staff is always friendly, hotel is always clean. The kids love the mini golf and the pool. We always stay on the second floor overlooking the pool. It's the best.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!!!

      from

I made a reservation with this hotel and lost the confirmation number.

When I called 3 days before my scheduled stay to see if I could reschedule for the following weekend they advised me they did not have any information on me whatsoever and therefore I wasn't scheduled for a stay anyway. Today I checked my bank account and I was charged for the stay. I have made several phone calls asking WHY they couldn't find my reservation when I called to cancel and reschedule but they sure could find it when they wanted to charge me. They are UNWILLING to refund my money stating they have NO record of me canceling my reservation (Uh, isn't that a bit difficult when your incompetent staff said I didn't have a reservation to begin with?!) I am contacting the Better Business Bureau today! I won't EVER do business with them again....

Nice Clean Place to Stay with Extra's

      from

We stayed here in 1993 and really enjoyed our room. We had two queen beds, microwave/fridge and a deck overlooking the lake. They had hot breakfast every morning and a large pool/whirlpool area. The hotel is connected to Canal Park via the Lakewalk but is a few mile hike to get there. Everything was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to every one.

Made my way back to Willmar and for the first time on this trip, I went shopping at a mall. I hadn’t brought enough socks, so I stocked up on those and a few other things and was on my way again by about noon. It was a perfect day for driving and the countryside is quite green through Minnesota. Lots of hardwood trees ...

Got back home yesterday. I can't even begin to tell what a great adventure it has been. The Mouse performed without missing a beat and everybody got along as we should. We'd like to thank all the people who encouraged us along the way. At every stop we made the interest in what we were doing was astounding. The visits from the Mang sisters, cousin Ed and Amanda Nelson, Dale Alger, cousin Judy Lambert Minemyer, John ...

... kids happily watched a couple of movies, a great way to pass the time.

We passed some very interesting wildlife (mostly roadkill!) deer, a bear, skunks, raccoons, an eagle and a groundhog.

There was great excitement when we stopped for a pee break and found a little turtle in the grass. Matty claimed it and held it proudly the rest of the journey (losing it a few times but thankfully found it again unharmed). He christened him Leonardo the turtle. He was supposed to let him ...

... in about 3 minutes, and goes up 25 to 30 times daily during busy parts of the shipping season. The span is about 390 feet (120 meters). As ships pass, there is a customary horn-blowing sequence that is copied back. Long-short-long-short means to raise the bridge, and Long-short-short is a friendly salute.

Arriving in Duluth the following morning was a delight as we drove across Duluth bridge through the industrial port area and checked into Beacon Point hotel and the view across Lake Superior was spectacular. The area is vast, beautiful, rugged and open with a feeling of wildness and unconquered ...
