Today we visited the Vermont ski museum. I learned about two main things: Perry Merril, known as "The Man Who Put Vermont on Skis", and the 10th Mountain division, a ski unit in World War II. Perry Merrill Perry Merrill was a forester who believed in public use of public land. He was appointed State Forester in 1930. As supervisor of the Civilian Conservation Corps, he supported ski development, and leased state land to developers, bringing millions to the state. 10th Mountain ...

... we passed the others, we detoured through a cow pasture, and had to go under an electric fence.
Meanwhile, the other group (Dad, John, Gregory, and Michael) had some trouble finding the entrance to the path, but once they found it, he met us, we had lunch, and we continued on our ways. They apparently had no problems after they met us, obviously due to our superior trailblazing ...

I met Wayne and Dave, two cyclists from Canada who were doing the Green Mountain Loop route. We stopped on the road ...

... but truly breath taking. I wish I was here one month later to see the leaves change, but it's pretty while it's green too. I felt a burden lift as I got further from the ferry. I went over a mountain called Bread Loaf today. Fitting with its name, the beginning was super steep, the middle had gentle rolling hills following a river, and the end was a nice 12% grade down. If I could imagine riding the length of a loaf of bread, that was today. It was ...

... tour guide, saw some beautiful horses, and were able to watch a training session. This morning we left Lake Dunmore and headed NE and stopped in Waterbury, VT to visit the Ben and Jerry ice cream factory. Great tour to see how they make their euphoric ice cream and ended with a large sample of their flavor of the day. So impressed with the mission of the company-commitment to use only GMO free Vermont milk ...
