Stayed at the Eagle Mountain Lodge. Old style hotel with 280ft wrap around veranda. Nice enough suite. Apparently, the units are all individually owned but managed by a group that rents the vacant units out as hotel rooms for income. The mechanicals are old though besides the bathroom. ... quiet snowy this week which meant that the conditions were great, although visibility at times a challenge (or was that my age?).
Last year we tried Loon for the day. This year we ventured up to Cannon which was wonderful. Slightly more dated than WV, but fabulous trails, great food and a wide selection of craft beers.
... This morning it's snowing, great big flakes. We're about 5 minutes out of Bridgton which itself is a lovely little place with a great bookshop (which Stephen King frequents apparently), a covered bridge, artsy/old fashioned cinema, as well as all the essentials. The boys have been snowboarding, we're hoping to ski on Saturday (there's a great little mountain just up the road) and we're going dog sledding (or mushing) tomorrow. Now I need to plan ...

... snowbirds during the night and we're leaving our roost tomorrow morning. We're haven't quite figured out our driving route back to Miami Beach. But we'll make some unexpected right and left turns and see what we find!
