... food was plentiful. Supper break was taken in Bruce Mines, ON a sleepy little Lake Huron shore town with a great waterfront and marina. The best looking mom and pop restaurant was "bobbers" and it did not disappoint. Great pie! I stopped at Agawa Crafts and service station at Pancake Bay for gas and was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding level of service I received. Free coffee and water were offered as well as directions to the washroom. If you are travelling west on 17 past Sault Ste Marie, put this down ...

Stayed here on a previous trip. It is a biker friendly stop in a beautiful location, with a good restaurant. What's not to love?
I was just unpacking when the owner phoned to ask if I'd let her take my photo for her motel blog. She gets lots of male bikers but not females, let alone a solo female.
      Of course, I agreed & had ...

Day of Driving with Some Swimming Required

A travel blog entry by craig.d.work on Aug 21, 2011

Today was relatively relaxed though it was a long driving day. We got up and had a last visit with Theresa and Chris in the morning before heading for the car and out of Montreal. By noon we were well past Ottawa and on route towards Sudbury. Only stopping for lunch and gas a couple of times we made great time, being it was a Sunday and traffic and construction were at a minimum. ...
