    ... the Michigan, the Superior and the Huron. Enclosed in the centre of this huge continent, it is very hard for an european eye not to see them as sea.

    The road 17 who crossed north of these big lakes is a quiet road with little old motels and petrol station apart sometimes by 150 kilometres, is the main road of Ontario.

    Sault Ste. Marie to Lime Island was about a 5 hour run down the St. Mary's River. The St. Mary’s River is basically a series of lakes connected by channels. Being a ways from shore makes it not quite as scenic as one might think. But it was a nice day and a pleasant trip downriver.
