      ... nights we got to know them pretty well, even being able to predict the pattern and know when it was about to end. As we listened we kept trying to convince ourselves that they were just outside the window rather inside the bungalow, and that our bug net would serve as a gecko net as well. All said and done it took 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours to get to Haad Tien from the ferry, a lot longer than it would have to get dropped off at one of the hostels on the main party beach, then ...

      We arrived in Koh Tao at 3pm after a 6 hour journey from Hua Hin. 4 hour bus journey to Chumpon and a 2 hour journey on a catamaran from Chumpon to Koh Tao. There was a gang of Thai Taxi drivers waiting at the harbour, trying to catch everyones attention as soon as they stepped off of the catamaran.       ... pretty quiet. We found Blue Marine bungalows fairly quickly and once we had been given our keys we sat on the beach and chatted for a bit. It was here that we bumped into Dan, a HGV driver from Liverpool. We immediately hit it off with him. He had been travelling round Australia with his missus.
