525 Tunnel Mountain Road Banff, Banff National Park, Canadian Rockies, Alberta, Canada, T1L 1B2, 403-762-5591
Cant seem to find my blog for Canada..... so I'll write from what I can remember.... We flew from Portland, Oregon to Vancouver in a tiny tiny little plain! We had to walk out to it on the tarmac and we had seats right at the front of the plane (4 seats wide, 2 on each side) and our seats were about a metre away from the cockpit door! It was so small! Me and my sister both got window seats (one on each side) and we had great views! We flew over seattle and the lakes around Vancouver, they wer...
Banff, Alberta, Canada umbr.ella
Drove through Banff National Park to Canmore for a new windshield (I can see again but the van still looks pretty bad), supplies and the never-ending laundry. Returned to Two Jack Lakeside in the park which is ten kilometres from Banff and snagged a walk-in campsite with a view of the lake and great dog-loving neighbours. Begrudgingly paid $10 extra for a fire permit so I could cook two nights worth of meat (Alberta ...
Banff, Alberta, Canada tombuttle... like see the most windiest road in the world (walking up that mother f***er was painful!) and went on a cruise around the harbour and saw the Golden gate bridge (The fog cleared up for 2 minutes when I was under it, so I actually got some pics!) and of course Alcatraz.. which is just a prison on an island.. no big deal! Chris took me up to hippy hill too which is this well known parkland where all the hippies hang out and play Frisbee, do drugs.. the usual :) The only ...

We left our cute little house around 4am. Got at the airport very early (5.30) and our flight was at 7 am.
The images from the plane down on Superior Lake and the prairies, were so nice. Loved it.
I couldn't stop myself thinking about the Air France crash. For me, traveling by place was always special (I have my reasons), and I was thinking oh my God... there is so much beauty up here, but for those people, all the beautiful ...
... br>Driving up to our campground, more deer wandered through the suburbs as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
We pulled into our pitch with stunning views of Tunnel Mountain and set up camp.
It was crisp as the sun fell from sky and we headed up to the Banff hot springs for a bit of rest and relaxation, our first few hundred miles under our wheels and feeling happy and content.
I got up early as we were been picked up at 8.15am. We were in a much larger group comapared to when we first set out on the moose tour. We headed straight to the Athabasca falls. The falls are impressive especially how they have carved and shaped the rock. It was very fast and the river at the bottom was a lovely blue colour. As we headed back to the Athabasca glacier information centre (we had been there on day 3 of the tour) we ...
Banff, Alberta, Canada kellybooth16... turn back around and go back. I took Mum and Dad for a drive around the rest of Minnewanka Loop, but they really had seen enough lakes to last them for quite a while so we didn't really stop much. It was another quiet night of home cooking and a movie. The following day the time had come to drop the car back at the rental shop, much to my disappointment - it was so handy to have a car at my disposal, I really miss having my car! My friend ...
Banff, Alberta, Canada vhenschkeCanmore, where our hotel is located, is just a few miles south of Banff National Park, one of the world's most beautiful spots. The mountains are magnificant as you can see in the photos. The town of Banff is a small village sandwiched between the mountains with a river running through it. Today, we went to the Cascades of Time Gardens in downtown Banff. The gardens, which were built ...
Banff, Alberta, Canada dbrainard... well worth the trip. On the Sun (Canadian Bday) we got a group of us and wined an dined at the 3 Raven's rest, at the Banff Centre. We drank at the wine bar 1st then moved over to the table for some delectiable treats compliments of our mate and chef Sebastian. We were spoilt rotten with 6 courses. It was to die for =) After dinner it was off to Aurora's nightclub for a boggie down with everyone, it was a lot of fun with some great friends. Hope you enjoy it!!
Banff, Alberta, Canada alicat_1... in Banff. Banff is a lot bigger than Jasper and has all the tourist trappings imaginable. Joe took us up Buffalo road to show us an authentic Scottish castle. I cannot remember it's name, but it is a huge hotel, built exactly like a Scottish castle, in Canada! After a minestrone soup, sandwich and Starbucks latte we hit the Icefield Parkway again, for the 4 hour return trip to Jasper. Rather than boring, it was fascinating to watch the ...
