      ... Bigfork was a fast 43 miles through rural Montana, mostly flat straight roads through agricultural land.       ... protection of the mountains, and the garden is peaceful and full of Buddha statues. 1000 of them. It is said that the Dalai Lama will be visiting next year, and there are conferences and gatherings throughout the year. It is an amazing place, and well worth the visit.

      An amazing thing happened today. Perhaps I should start at the beginning. We had thunderstorms last night until the wee hours of the morning. That meant a late start as everything was damp and we wanted our rain flies and such to dry before packing. So we had the latest start ever, 10:00!
