... also very very expensive!). Once at the top there is a limited amount of stuff to do as it is somewhere between summer and winter activities. No matter though the view down to the Coachella valley below – all the way to the Salton Sea was incredible.
I went for a gentle wander along the valley behind the tram station which was 5 inches deep in snow and delightfully crisp and calm. Had I been up early ...
... most enormous wind farm I have ever seem – there must have a thousand turbines of varying sizes both in the valley and on the hills. If I was better read I could make some comments in line with Cervantes Don Quixote but as I have only read a summary in the Twiterature book I should probably defer to someone with greater knowledge.
Finally and on the brink of sleep I made it to Rancho Mirage where many of the streets are ...
... outlet mall wasn't quite what we were expecting. Looked around for parking for over an hour just for us to realize that we couldn't handle the madness! Mile-long lines coming out of every store that was just not worth the wait. Driving back, got stuck in traffic for an hour and then got lost coming home. Ahhhh! Tuesday night went over to yayas for authentic Mexican food! Tofu-tamales! So good, along ...
Palm Springs, California, United States indahgirl-It's about 4:30 AM. Martin Schatz and I are buzzing off of a potent brew of coffee his grandma made us. We have began our hike an hour and a half ago and have been charging up a mountainside in the dark to what would turn out to be the beginning of a 22 mile hike. The trail is known as the Cactus to Clouds which is claimed to be in the top five hardest day hikes in the lower 48 states. It connects the desert floor which is 200 feet above sea level with San ...
Palm Springs, California, United States kalchalker... The added feature of the whole Hallowed-Fest experience was the first ever all acoustic set. Needless to say the music was amazing.
The promoters built this giant castle-snake-overlook in the middle of the firelds. You could walk all the way around and be at a rotunda at the top and look out to see the whole venue. A very cool feature. Highlight was the glowstick battles on either side with the people on top ...
... the next couple of days, but Nike was about the only shop available.
Going to check out a restaurant called Wang's in the Desert for dinner.
Please bear with me re my boring posts. We have not yet managed to buy cables and adaptors, so cannot quite write so much and upload pics.
Hope to have something tomorrow.

running onto the street. We took the palm springs aerial tram up onto
the mountains. The 10 minute ride gives you amazing vies of the
mountains. It is a very pretty place to see and our last stop. I loved
our time here in California and there are many memories we will take
back with us.
... much for the latter two but the 1st Noelle (get it?), 42, was a nice guy, (although a bit loud). He worked in construction in Palm Springs (I don't envy his job, not in this 100+ heat), had a wife and 2 kids (children not goats) and loved to drink beer on a golf course on a Sunday morning before 9.00am! Which made me feel good about myself. "Legends" in the afternoon - millionaire golf - no bugger around, could only speek to myself! Tuesday 29/05/07 - Teeth! - 2 ...
Palm Springs, California, United States barratt... if you like dancing, eating, sightseeing, etc. There is a special bus tour of where the vintage movie stars use to live. I live in the neighborhood where Charles Farrell, Marilyn Monroe and Joan Crawford once lived back in the day. I will point out to you all of the local eccentrics. Thursday night is street fair night. Everyone who is someone is to be seen. Give me a heads up when you are ready to visit.
Palm Springs, California, United States flowerdrum2006... and moved on down the road (literally - just about 45 minutes East on I-10!)to Indio/the Palm Springs area. We are currently at our Thousand Trails membership park, and will move to another Membership park mid-week to Desert Pools in Desert Hot Springs, which is not far away, either. So many people have been asking us "where next?" that my sister's suggestion that we post our itinerary is what this journal update will accomplish. Of course ...
