We seem to be so booked up doing nothing we have not got time to do anything. For example, we seem to be having difficulties after reading our books by the pool, going for walks along beautiful white sandy beaches...

Easter Down Under

... of beaching it - yet on Easter Sunday in Australia in the Sunshine state - the beach is fairly mobbed with bathers and swimmers in spite of heavy showers and black skies - Finn even had a dip - I decided against citing sanity as my reason. The big family get together Next day on Easter Monday Finn's brothers and nieces and nephews as well as parent joined us for an Easter meal - it was great fun - my own nieces and nephews have found competition in ...

Regen in Brisbane / Rain in Brisbane

More rain today so we had a quiet day in Brisbane. In the morning, we visited the Queensland Museum which shows history, nature and Aboriginal culture of Queensland. On our way to the ...

River Cruise and Down Under Bar

... so mache.

... of american tourists who turned up late making us miss the 'right' tide. We get given a chocolate ice lolly as a consolation and as im hungry i head to the cafe called the 'Truckstop' next door and get myself a hot pie from the cabinet, its tasty and fills a hole. One cup of tea later and we are back in the trackboat. Off down to home beack again and we finally make a sucessfull launch and get into the water and off we zoom. As its choppy and the waves high the dive team ...

Turtle spotting at Point Lookout

... and see possibly the same turtle come up three or four times, its amazing. An american guy told me he saw a manta ray but i missed it again!! The walk takes about 45 mins with all the stop offs but it really was so beautiful. It ends near yet more loos (good for pea size bladders) and right opposite some shops. I head to the bakery and have a nice al fresco lunch. After lunch I hit Frenchmans beach. There was about 4 of us on this massive beach and I ...

From Brisbane to North Stradbroke Island

... clue what he talking about but nod and smile which works for 90% of the conversation. He's a bit of a skank but really nice, he turns out to be dead intelligent and knows absolutely everything about current affairs and politics - his brain didnt match his body. So that passes the time quickly and the transfer arrives. David (the bum) teaches me an aborginal handshake and then chats to the driver for the bus journey. We get to Cleveland ferry terminal and I hop on my ...

... it) and feel perfectly comfortable telling people that I'm from the States, without even considering if it might be better to lie and tell people I'm from Canada. Let's face it, I could totally sound like I'm from Canada. And just one final note: yesterday I saw someone's facebook status as "ready to go to Canada", or something along those lines, in response to Obama. I just wanted to point out that Canada is further left than the US... Their health care is publicly funded *gasp*

THE WINNER OF JUSTIN'S DEATH POOL IS ...

... suggested the island's inhabitants would be pretty dull and I'd be hanging out mostly by myself. I left town on Tuesday, following Outdoor Ed. class. Rob lent me a bright pink sleeping bag for my excursion. Wisconsinite Jeff and German Kai saw the bag and ridiculed me throughout class. "What a rugged man you are!" they said. "Going for a weekend in the wild with a pink sleeping bag!?" I exchanged it for a purple one, which wasn't much better, and was on my way. I caught a bus ...
