    ... into the Indian Ocean. Fantastic. The Gili Lankanfushi is apples and oranges different from the Park Hyatt, which is a good thing! There are 45 rooms here, all overwater villas, and they're inspired by Robinson Crusoe....rustic and tree house like. In fact, they have a copy of the book in the room, which I started reading last night. The villas are huge...large bathroom, bedroom and living area, an upstairs deck and the aforementioned sun deck ...

    ... entire Maldives is just a touch above 7 feet) but I still had trouble envisioning strapping on a life-jacket as the ocean rose up to swallow our room (although to be fair, the Maldives were devastated by the 2004 tsunami. Only nine islands were reported to have escaped any flooding, while fifty-seven islands faced serious damage to critical infrastructure, fourteen islands had to be totally evacuated, and six islands were destroyed).
