Resort was beautiful, of course. BUT, (and it's a big but) the transportation is awful. Stand around and wait!!! We had a weird woman driver one evening, and it took her about 1hr. and 40 min. to drive from the Animal Kingdom to our resort because the windows of the bus needed to be defrosted.. It was about 45 degrees and she had no idea how to defrost. And since she was so late on her route she kept telling all who were standing to push back, push back, push back. Now I' m no scientist, but I believe that 2 object cannot occupy the same space at the same time. What a dreadful experience!

Historical Traveler Reviews Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Orlando
Honeymoon Paradise
If anyone out there will be honeymooning at Disney, I highly recommend the Caribbean Beach Resort. The place is huge, and is like its own town. We rented a little boat at a resonable rate to drive around the lake. The swimming pools and fountains were beautiful and with the caribbean music playing in the background you truly felt like you were in Jaimaica. The Banana Cabana tiki hut is number one for pina coladas and daiquiris.
At night my new husband and I curled up in a blanket on one of the many semi-secluded hammocks facing the lake to watch the fireworks. It was extremely romantic.
We already have plans to go back for our one year anniversary in May 2003.
A great place to relax and to be treated like special guest.
My husband and I got to enjoy a 8day 7night stay at the resort for our honeymoon. We had a large wedding April 27,2002 and enjoyed every minute of our wedding, but the thing we will never forget was the honeymoon. It was just us on this great resort. We enjoyed the centercourt. There was great food, for great prices. The mugs for $10.00 were a great deal. We did not want to leave. We are planning on coming back on our two year wedding anv. We tell everyone about the resort.
Thanks for making that week, a week we will never forget.

It was everything I hoped it would be!
My family and I have been to Orlando, Florida four times now. We've stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort every time. The first time we went there, I was 10 years old. I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever seen! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's interested in going to Disney World! It was absolutely amazing. We plan on going there again next year (2003) and staying at the Caribbean as well!
Not a great value
Okay, we had to do a Disney resort sometime, and having done it, I don't imagine we'll do it again. Our trip didn't get off to a good start when we learned that Disney had cancelled the reservation ONE WEEK AFTER it was made (due to a no-longer-valid credit card), and neglected to inform us or our travel agent. Also, Disney had no record of the $500 deposit I put down for 3 nights, so now I have to prove to them that it was made. Anyway, the resort is nice, but in my mind not worth $154/night. Stay at the Martinique area if you can--nice quiet pool and close to the center. Our only experience with the bus was that we had to wait over 30 minutes to catch one to Downtown Disney. The room was okay, although we were disappointed that they charged for in-room coffee. There are much better deals in the surrounding area--check out Embassy Vacation Resorts for one.
What a surprise!
We weren't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at CBR! The rooms were wonderful and very nicely done! Housekeeping came every day and freshened up the beds and gave fresh towels and amenities. My only complaint was that we didn't get the 'animal washcloths' that I had read so much about or had our stuffed animals placed anywhere but where we had them. We stayed in Aruba which was far from the main area and food court but it was a beautiful and relaxing walk across a 'jungle' type bridge and a scenic walk around the lake. We took a different way each time and never noticed the length in the walk. the $10 refillable mugs at the resort were a great purchase since we way surpassed the value during our 9 days there. The pools were clean but full of chlorine and the beaches and hammocks were wonderful to relax on at the end of the day or to watch the 9pm Epcot fireworks!
Not worth the money!
At around $150 per night, the rooms are clean but old. There are no usual hotel amenities in the rooms except if you want to pay for them. You are even charged for coffee if you want to make it in your room. We had to call for an iron and ironing board, and they charge for local calls. And, for lunch the first day, we paid $16.00 for 2 cheeseburgers, fries, and water at one of the on-site restaurants. This is the first time we stayed at a hotel on the Disney property, and we were very disappointed. It was not worth the money!
Location Is Everything.
Caribbean Beach Resort is a sprawling property and since all rooms are identical; requesting a specific village and building makes alot of difference in walking distances, views and overall impression of the hotel. Pay the additional fee for a lake or pool view room; the view from the common rooms is uninspiring. We stayed in Martinique Building 25 and couldn't have been more pleased with our room; less than a two minute walk to Old Port Royale and our village's quiet pool without sacrificing privacy or scenery. The village's quiet pool is almost as large as the feature pool and much more enjoyable. Aruba would be our second choice with it's great beach, some buildings with close proximity to OPR, scenic pool and nice location at the lake's widest point.
Jamaica seemed crowded and the portion of the lake it shares with Trinidad North is broken up by Parrot Cay Island. Trinidad North gets alot of noise from the feature pool and because there's only 3 buildings instead of the other village's 6; it's quiet pool is very tiny. Barbados is quite a distance from OPR with an inferior beach and waterfront dominated by a playground. Trinidad South's opposite shoreline isn't developed and the entire village seems isolated from the rest of the resort.
Awesome
This resort is one of the best resorts in Magic Kingdom. The rooms are a little bigger than the other resorts. Each "island" has its own pool which makes for a more relaxing time.
Wonderful and relaxing, but still fun for everyone in the family
the first time i visited this resort, i was with my family. i loved the place so much that i am interested in another trip there with only me and my boyfriend after we both finish school next year (2003).
Awesome TIme
The Disney Caribbean Beach resort is considered one of the "moderate" accomodations in Disney. It's also considered an Epcot hotel and "distant" from attractions. I didn't find it that way. Any Disney attraction/park was easy to get to via the busses. They even arranged for busing to Universal Studios--the competing theme parks in Orlando.
The hotel only offered junk food for room service and the hotel restaurants were mostly fast food counters and only one sit-down dining type place. The food, even at the counters, was wonderful. And of course, the service is with a smile and very prompt just like you would expect from Disney.
The accomodations themselves weren't anything to scream over-- just a standard slightly smallish hotel room. The furnishings and decor, hoewever, were very nice and island thematic.
Will definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone.
