A fun evening, after a long trip...

The sunset before the storm was great!

As I was walking to the polo this morning, I ran into a guy from Bandalheira... he even was wearing his shirt! (Why didn't I take a picture,,, doh!?!)

Its fun here as so many people use bikes, so I got a lot of great "bike n door" pics...

        Its good here!

        Gawd its hot here...

9 hours, across Minas... First up to BH, then out into the countryside, once we crossed the hills, things get unbelievably beautiful... kms and kms of coffee, corn, soy... forest, mountains, plains... very clean, organized... small farms and many huge factory operations...

Tonight we give a talk, and tomorrow a graduation party... or two.

Gotta run, the lecture starts soon... no wifi in the hosue we are staying in...

I'm going to try to make this a little more structured than the last one, but due to my procrastination I have plenty to include. Let’s start with my rant about random stuff. (Feel free to skip down to 'As far as' if you want.)

One of my goals before getting here was to be able to pass as a Brazilian, at least until I open my mouth (at which point my mistakes and accent give me up pretty ...

... all day - just shows what a big country Brazil is.
Because we were near a river, there were lots of mossies but a campfire helped to keep them at bay.
Because there were enough to go around, Johann and myself had our own tents although we helped each other with putting them up - it needed two people to hold the poles in place - although we got adept at taking our own tent down and packing it away.
