This resort was a great place for singles or families. With this hotel you have a lazy river and bay on one side of the highway (with a bridge way for those not willing to brave the busy Florida traffic), on the other you have a the beautiful emerald coast of the gulf and access to the Remata's swim-up grotto bar and shops.
The room was light and clean looking with a patio facing the big city of Destin. With a view of the gulf and bay.

I got my first real taste of Southern BBQ in the evening, and like everything else so far it was amazing, though everyone else seemed to suffer upset tummies afterwards! The highlight of day 3 was a short trip out to Grayton beach, and the red bar. Grayton beach is another super picture perfect cove, though the buildings are ...
... traffic, especially since traffic through the panhandle of Florida is pretty much restricted to I-10. However, it is worse than expected. Traffic is incredibly heavy as holiday revelers head back to all points in Mississippi and Alabama. The impatient, exhausted, and probably still hungover drivers, with their various combinations of pick-ups, cars, RVs, boats, and trailers, contribute to the bumper to bumper traffic. ...
... got to go do a little shopping. After that we did some laundry, man that piles up fast at beach stops! Dollar store proved useful for balloons, never a dull day with balloons! And ended the day with salmon on cedar plank. Oh wow. That's been mamas favorite so far, WAY ...
