We awoke at 5:00 am to a winter wonderland and the news that Highway 400 at Barrie was closed in both directions. Our departure was delayed as an alternate route was worked out in order to gather all our passengers. Stops were made in Orillia, Barrie, Bradford (along Yonge Street to get there) and Vaughan where we picked up Bill Watts, our driver and Tony Stewart's biggest fan. The snow was heaviest in the Barrie area and disappeared from the sky by ...

... in the States. Gas $30.80 (2.54/gal) - WOOT - again! 3:00 - a truck about 5 or 6 car lengths ahead shed a tire. ... around the shops there and had lunch in a place called the Cottage which was right on the lake. We tried out some Muskoka beers and visited both Tim Hortons. All very Canadian. We sat by the lake in some Muskoka chairs and talked about our trip and the party being planned for us at home. The plan is to all go into Toronto on Saturday and meet up with Nikki, Joey, Andrew and Chris. We are excited about everyone being together. We will go back with Nikki and Joey on Sunday to ...

Summer Camp

Summer Camp was crazy. One of the most intensive things I have ever done over an extended period of time. There were highs, there were lows but overall I can say I throughly enjoyed the experience. I started my time with Camp Tamarack in Toronto which was a great way to get my head around all these new terms - sequoia, juniper, elder, hawthorn, all day, cabin periods, mini acorn and the list goes on. The two weeks in ...
