... of my days here have been spent riding bikes along south beach, watching skateboarders, people doing yoga on the sea front, looking for potential beats and dancing on the beach during the crazy storms. All in all, it has been great fun, it's just a shame I didn't get to see very much. I now have 24 bites on my body and counting... We had thought about hanging out at our hotel pool for a while, but by the time we were ready to leave it was only a half hour until we needed to check out. I freaked out because I couldn't find my wallet in the morning, I looked everywhere on my side of the room, still had my passport ...

We had originally planned to stay in Miami for five days however when we looked at accommodation in the Miami Beach area, it became extremely expensive at the weekend. So instead we decided to spend two nights in Miami, one night in Titusville (near the Kennedy Space Centre) and two nights in Orlando. This is how it unfolded.

In Miami Beach we stayed at the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club which was quite a trendy hotel on the main drag, Collins ...

... die from shark attacks worldwide, but several million sharks are killed each year for local delicacies and herbal remedies. It was sad to see how sharks are killed for their fins and then left to drown in the ocean. There was also a pretty big exhibit on the Jaws effect and the role that Ron and Valerie Taylor and Rodney Fox helped introduce sharks to the world on film.

The other exhibits weren’t as good. I just don’t get contemporary art; as often as ...
