... up the lovely sun and using the pool before heading up to get ready and enjoying some pre dinner drinks. We decided to head back for more of what had been our fav meal of the trip, chicken! Andrew joined Mandy in having a barraquito coffee, which is a first, Andrew enjoying coffee!! Headed back to the hotel after our meal and called it a night.
... the restaurant we had chosen was just a short walk along the coast and also looked out over the water. It was primarily a fish restaurant so we indulged in some local choices with one in particular being recommended by the wait staff. After a lovely meal we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed some drinks on the balcony.
... the sea where we enjoyed various tapas and a ice cold beer before heading back to the hotel for some more relaxing.
We took a taxi to Adeje which is about 10 minutes away to have dinner in this street cafe that only does Garlic chicken, home made chips and salad, which made the ordering easy! It was good, despite the screaming children at the next table doing their best to spoil everyone's dinner. We returned to the hotel and had a few glasses of vino on the balcony.
... br> We then headed to the world famous Linekers bar, after being chaperoned in so the boy could get commission we gritted our teeth through the round of drinks and left. We decided that we would walk the journey home, stopping for a drink in a bar that happened to have the Aberdeen Elvis! Only saw about ten minutes but was mildly entertaining, we then completed the journey home and called it a night.
... to see some more sights and the obligatory stop at a Scottish bar for a pint.
After the pint we headed further round the coast of los Cristianos where it was getting time for something to eat, the place Mandy had lined up for us had a bit of a queue so we headed for a jug of sangria at another place in the hope that the queue would die down. On return it hadn't, but a trip up to the front to ask ended up with us getting a table pretty quick. This ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Dania Magec Resort Puerto de la Cruz
First off, I need to let everybody know I'm American, but have lived in Spain for 25 years, so I'm accustomed to all kinds of Spanish hotels. Have stayed in Paradores, hostals, great hotels and not-so-great hotels. Sorry to say that the Dania Park is a not-so -great hotel, maybe even bordering on "A Place I Wouldn't Stay At Again." The rooms are clean, but sparsely furnished. Forget a decent view. The bathroom glasses are minute. Soap is rationed...we got two small bars the day we arrived, and we never saw any more. (We had a four day stay.) There was no remote control for the tiny T.V. When my husband told the receptionist this, he was told that it was necessary to pay a 30 safety deposit for this "service", which he claimed was completely normal in a four star hotel. (Not true in Spain!!!) The staff was totally rude, cold, and unhelpful. Particularly the clerk who was on duty during Check-In/Check-Out times, when they should be bending over backwards to give a good impression. A couple of positive points, to be fair. The breakfast is a buffet with eggs, bacon, cereal....quite complete. The hotel is superbly located, only a short walk from the center of Puerto de La Cruz, and right across the street from TITSA, the station for bus service all over the island. Even with this going for the Dania Park, I don't think I'd stay there again.
Pretty good but
We were booked into the Dania Park. On arriving late at night we were taken to a room in the Magec sister hotel. We discovered our balcony never had any sun. We suggest you check before accepting any room. The food and staff were very good. The lobby was smoke filled and one felt one had to rush through.
Feels like home
The Dania Magec is and always has been brilliant have gone for the last 7 years and are going back again this year. The staff from management to cleaners are very helpful and friendly and will do anything for you.
The location is great, central for everything. It is not just for the elderly we are a family of 4 and have always found something to do within the hotel. There is also plenty of places to visit around the area which are a must to see again and again. Looking forward to going back in November 2004 it is definatly" HOME FROM HOME" for us. Well done to everyonewho makes this posible.
First the positives. The rooms were clean, tidy and maintained. We were lucky in getting a sea view room as, for what we could work out, only those on the middle section fourth and fifth floor would have this.
Just back from 14 night stay at the Dania Park. Although there was only 2 of us we were allocated a family room with a very large balcony which was a bonus from the start. The food is great with lots of different dishes to choose from, they cater for every taste, although some people still managed to complain. (They should try Blackpool instead). The location is great very central. The harbour is only a few minutes walk away and the bus station is just across the road so if you want to venture further afield you can. All in all an excellent hotel with friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
Nice clean hotel with quite good personal. The rooms are simple.15 minutes walk to the beach.
Great hotel and fantastic location
The Hotel Dania and her sister hotels had fantastic facilities with the staff being very warm and friendly. Alot of people have said it is for the older age bracket but i disagree. Food was good, room was cleaned, and towels were changed every day.If you want a relaxing holiday or a fun packed holiday but want to stay away from the clubbing scene this is the place for you. Peurto de la Cruz is a great place to stay, I will most definately be going again.
Magec great except for the food
The Magec is a nice hotel, the swimming pools are good, the staff are friendly well most of them and Puerto De La Cruz is great. Well my grandfather came from the Island and I have Uncles and aunts still there. The one problem with the Magec is the food, the buffet is practically the same every day and the coffee was just awful. Spain is a nation of elegant coffee drinkers.I think the problem is that the Magec is run for the German market. It bugs me that a lot of the money on the island goes straight back to germany.Apart from the food the Magec is great.
Superb place for family
great looking hotel, pools on the roof, wow, naturist spot as well, murphys irish pub great, beautiful location, bus very near, taxi stand nearby, loads of shops restaurants and entertainment, check out loro parque, parrots galore dont forget ur camera, beach 5 mins walk away, sand is hot, stacks of sun loungers, best holiday we have ever had, would go back tomorrow
Dania - Magic
well situated; close to the excellent shops and beautiful plazas of peurto de la cruz. the dania and its sister hotel magec offer comfortable and spacious rooms, five pools, jacuzzi, nightly entertainment, four bars, three restaurants and pleasant staff throughout. the bus station offering buses to all parts of tenerife is accross the street and the beach is a five minute walk away. the main shopping areas are around the corner and the lido is easily within walking distance.
